True Keith - but - there are too many 'one liners' from 'Ex-Tory agent' and his ilk. Some days I've heard better conversation in the Waitrose queue.

Come on ConHome - tell it as it is. Politicians and elites may be on board, the people (who seem to matter the least) are not. There is nobody to articulate our views except people like Farage and Rees-Mogg. It's hard to know what to do when the entire political class, media, big business, arts, civil service, public sector, centrist/leftist/soft right blob is against not just Brexit, but also doing anything serious about any of the real problems we face with immigration, housing and multiculti/pc thought policing. We're not a people that rise up, and the deceits on Brexit are being delivered with smiles and half-truths. Unless something dramatic happens it seems we will be denied. Since May's Brexit sellout speech I am genuinely beginning to think the only thing that can smash this establishment to bits is a shock Corbyn communist government. Whatever forces of the right emerge to knock them from power will not be the Tories as they are now. I hope Rees-Mogg and Farage are part of the new party, and I will vote for them. For now I feel like Gina Miller, Tony Blair, Richard Branson and Anna Soubry have won

For forty odd years we have had this 'tweedle-dum tweedle-dee' style of politics. Of course she’ll keep Britain in the EU as long as possible then throw the next election so that Labourr can rescind the UK Referendum result by claiming that they were elected to keep Britain in the EU. It’s just one long pantomime for some politicians whilst they wait to leave office and cash in on all the favours they did big business whilst in government.

As Churchill said - “The problems of victory are more agreeable than those of defeat, but they are no less difficult.” He also said - “Out of intense complexities, intense simplicities emerge.” . So, after some forty years of sitting back and 'nodding' through EU laws and legislation,MP's will now have to start 'earning their keep'.
62% of the British public support SSM and 38% oppose. That does not make it either 'right' or 'wrong'. It should be a matter of morality and conscience.

Not ..."being Being a Catholic, I am opposed to that abomination of 'gay marriage' - but can see that it is one of those 'advances' that is probably here to stay. I also believe that human life begins at the point of conception and that in MOST circumstances abortion is plain wrong - evil, in fact." In 2013 in the UK, there were 202,745 (registered) abortions. There were around 794,000 live births. Thus slightly over 20% of pregnancies end in abortion - that is 202,745 out of around 996,745. Heaven only knows what the figures are now, but you can bet it is not lower? Whatever one's view on the legitimacy and desirability of abortions, it seems there are an extremely large number and proportion of unwanted pregnancies.

"Of course he will never become leader of the party. They will find some snake, some well-spun woman or man, who will continue to kow-tow to the Left, run the party into the ground and cause the young to abandon them in their droves. They will move to the Left, trashing the country in the process. The point is not that Jacob Rees-Mogg is not good enough for the party; the point is that the party is not good enough for him." Another excellent read from Laura Perrins over at Consevative Woman

I'm getting just a tad fed up with reading about pro-EU sentiment within the party. The decision to leave the EU has been taken and we should now all 'pull together'. If people do not go along with this, fair enough but they should quietly leave and fight from another platform. Just as the UK Independence Party was formed to support their leave cause, let the remainers form a UKSP – the UK Subservience Party. (ie 'willingness to obey others unquestioningly').

Nuts? Yes, they forced metric nuts (screws & bolts) onto us poor unsuspecting engineers. I'm talking here about amateur model makers, not industry as they were well geared up to using metric. I had to go to the expense of buying new dies and taps. I was quite content with British Standards. And then of course there were new spanners required. Nuts? the EU nuts? Thanks to their Health & Safety directives walnuts, Brazil nuts, hazel nuts - in fact ALL nuts, had to be labelled 'Warning, contains nuts'!!! It's not us that's nuts - it's the bl**dy EU. ;-)
