How dare the NYC children enjoy the outside on a beautiful day when most people are at work! You did buy an apartment on a block with an elementary school...did you not realize this might occasionally happen? Street with elementary school on it = as close to Sesame Street as you're going to get in the real world.

People complain that NYC has a 41% abortion rate. I'm glad it's that high: it's lower elsewhere not because women don't want abortions, but because they can't get them. It would be great if everyone used birth control, and if birth control never failed but that's just not the case. Agreeing to sex isn't agreeing to give birth, or parent.

Thank you for sharing your story. More people should - if they did, perhaps the stigma around abortion would fade. 1 out of 3 American women have an abortion by age 45. Women shouldn't be ashamed: they should be proud that they made the right choice for them.

It's not that much for nice parts of Brooklyn (Brooklyn Heights especially because it's much closer to the Financial District than the nicest areas of Manhattan). Greenpoint is gross. I can't believe how stupid these tenants are.

Regarding point 2: people discuss many things. Not all of them warrant discussion. Something being talked about doesn't equal something warranting discussion. Regarding my earlier comment about agreeing to sex not being akin to agreeing to motherhood: thankfully, American women legally have the right to choose motherhood. Men don't have the right in the same way, nor should they. If a man doesn't want to have kids, he should use condoms or have a vasectomy. When a woman has sex, she knows that if she gets pregnant she can also have an abortion. When a man has sex, he knows he may impregnate the woman and she may choose to carry the fetus to term or she may choose to abort. The consequences are different for each party, you can't compare the two.
