No, I would not rather have a corrupt Kohen as my judge, just as I would not want a corrupt Rabbi to be my judge.
the rabbis famously say (paraphrased): a ben-torah momzer is better than a jerk-off Kohen.
Well, what do u know? the RABBIS said that, not the Kohanim. let's give some equal time to God's appointees.

That passage gives the power of judgment to the Kohanim and Leviim. There is no indication that scholars, who r not even mentioned, have any authority at all.
That is why the Talmud is full of the self-important Rabbis' knocking the God-appointed Kohanim whenever they can. The Rebs constantly have to assert their tenuous authority over Judaism.

Brother Jeff, I do not merely declare the "answers" inadequate. but rather I offer a responding question, which the guy cannot answer, thus proving the inadequacy of his answer. Just the other day, my frum-ass Chabad relative was giving me usual shpiel of self-love as "wasting seed." when I told him the scientific fact the 500 K seeds in each jack was an infinitesimal nothing compared to trillions of lifetime seeds, he drew a blank.
That is what I mean when I say the "answers" r inadequate. They r offered only to get u to shut up.

I am very interested by the story of the Red Army general. What was his name? How did he (or any Jew) become a general? what was his fate in the age of Stalin? What happened to his family?
I smell a doctoral thesis and a small movie.

Brooklyn, nobody "stole" anything. Philosophies, religions, and science often build upon previous systems. Judaism in its early days borrowed much from previous civilizations--the 7-day week, a legal code, etc. Do u think the Jews were the first to outlaw murder, stealing, and adultery?
There is nothing wrong with Jesus's being a carpenter (as well as a rabbi). Moses and David were shepherds, and many of the amoraim r referred to by their day job---including tanner and carpenter.

Your immature diatribe, Victor, is obviously out of place. This forum is for conducting ideas, not for personal invective and cursing. Well, I am not the vindictive type, so I will bless u and your house. I pray u will live a long and happy life.

Well, if we cannot survive as a people due to the modern world impinging, or for any other reason, I can handle that. If Judaism has to die of natural causes, it will die. There is nothing we could or should or can do about it.

I do not have to physically visit their gravesite to remember and respect my late parents.
