If you think that someone with such a silly and juvenile understanding of the Constitution's applicably to a policy proposal has standing then why don't you, EOD and the other Constitutional "experts" that consistently vote RESPUBLICAUS and me down take it up at the next RNC policy steering committee meeting for major donors and push for McConnell to be purged from the Party. I'll even go out of my way to meet you and even introduce you to some of the heavy hitters. Tommorrow you'll have forgotten all about this and move on to some other stupid point of purtiy.

I contacted his office the day he proposed it and politiely told his nice staffer to tell him to be quiet. She wasn't surpised.

We in the New Hampshire and Massachusetts coind the term in the 1990's so I can assure you we know what it means.

It always meant Liberal Republican who votes with the Left frequently calling themselves "Fiscal" Conservatives..

Obama owns the Debt he created and the Economy. 68 to 70 % of the People oppose raising taxes and the debt ceiling. It is serpentine but understandable.

Yes and defending the US Constitution isn't even involved in this matter. McConnell challenged the constitutionally of McCain-Feingold which was an fully enacted Law not a proposal or thought experiment or silly tactic and had it declare Unconstitutional.

So the point of the Legislature being Constitutionally constrained until even after enactment is tenuous but it is completely irrelevant in in judging a proposal.

I have a little more confidence in McConnell's general understanding of the issues facing the Republicans in this fight but like the House and nearly everyone else never supported it.

He is operating as a strategic planner. He floated a trial balloon to draw fire and attention that diverted the responsibility from the HousRepublicansns. I am not going to throw him out for a proposal.

I would tend to agree that the act of Politics is frequently indistinguishable from crime but his proposal was a clever ploy to get cuts and largely meaningless in a democrat dominating Senate.

McConnell is concerned with strategic victories using tactics that might be distasteful for purist but necessary because of the composition of the Senate.
