Look at all the old, white faces in the Beck crowd. The crowd of protesters in Mount Vernon were ALL races and ALL ages.....just like America.
pssst...it was REAGAN who dismantled the Fairness Doctrine. He is the one who allowed the market to be monopolized by the far-right who bought up hundreds of stations and placed 24/7 far-right talking heads on all the stations they now are allowed to own without restriction. Even when they lose money, they are kept on least a liberal gain any access to the Public airwaves.
Corporations really aren't people -- even though they are considered as much a citizen as you are by the pro-buisness, anti-people far right. The Republicans even passed a law that told the USDA they couldn't just pop in to inspect food plants anymore. No, the poor food packing corporations are 'people' under the far-right and they have to be asked ahead of time for an appointment before the USDA can inspect their plants.
SC Justice John Roberts wants to cement corporate personhood and allow any corporation to fully sponsor a candidate. I just ask that they be required to slap a logo on the politicians so we'll know who they're really working for.
Doctors across the country desperately want Obama's health care reform. Their voices are drowned out by the $$$$$$$$$$$$$ machine that's making excellent profits off the lucrative health insurance business.
We have too much debt -- yes -- but do you know WHO put us in such a place? Blaming Obama for INHERITING Bush's mess is juvenile. Ignoring common sense solutions is silly. Staying the course Bush set in place is suicide.
Obama hasn't been in office even 8 months so he doesn't get to be lumped in with Bush yet. But the machine that runs the world doesn't allow bright, articulate, common man leaders to get away with making changes that will HELP the regular folks out here. They are ramped up and will only get shriller as Obama works to make life better for Americans.
I rather KNOW who the racist nutcases are then have them hiding with fake smiles on their faces as they tear our country apart with their hate and fear.
