The truth is that we are in a time that will cause us suffering, but our control is only ourselves and our personal choices. You are right in that you must care for your children and family. I began working in my flower gardens more, cooking good meals, living more simply and discovered that while I felt like the government was totally out of control--I believe that God is totally in control. Breathe. Live your life, but speak out in a kind and clear way to your representatives. If we don't speak now, our kids won't have a voice later. But, you don't have to get caught up in the drama or innuendos on this site or any network. Step back and live, laugh, and love those around you. In the end, that is what is going to matter. As in all things, choose your battles and choose your life. Your voice is important. You aren't weak, honey, you are a mother who is wigging out with family responsibilities, work (home counts, too), faith, and trying to find a moment for yourself. No one in their right mind will accuse you of anything. Frankly, that's why I'm so active. I'm expecting my first grandchild this fall. My daughter and her husband will be busy raising their child(ren) (hoping for more), so it is the duty of us Baby Boomers to get out there and protect you and yours. If you did nothing but teach your children the truth about our Constitution and prepare them for leadership, if you saw that gift in them, then you would be doing exactly what this movement needs done.
