What I am curious about now is what people the remaining candidates have in mind for their potential running mates. Furthermore I'm curious to know which of the candidates left would consider being vice president should they not win the candidacy. A willingness to serve as VP might show how serious they are about getting our nation back on track. I guess in the end I'm not only concerned about who becomes our candidate but also how strong will the ticket as a whole be. The last election showed us how important the ticket as a whole. It's my opinion that no matter how many of us liked Palin she was just not liked or respected enough to compensate for McCain's weaknesses. With the right ticket, say a Gingrich/Romney ticket for example, Obama would be doomed from the start. Personally I'm not prepared to put all my hopes in one person but the right team could truly coalesce the base and get the snowball rolling down the hill. As it goes we already know that the left is not going to hold any punches and we need Romney's network and financing but we also need Gingrich's knowledge and, as he put's it, wisdom to fend off the relentless assaults that are sure to come.
