CGBlog.org :: An Unofficial Coast Guard Blog : Open Discussion for the week of March 29, 2009

I got mine in. I ordered the exact size according to the UDC website, and I look 6 months pregnant in them . They come huge! I have to send them back. I may just order more of the old ones, cause the new ones are a disaster. I think they are a worse quality than the last ones.

Open Discussion Topic: I cant seem to get wrinkles out of the center seam of the new untucked ODU's. I've ironed them, steamed them, but no luck. Any ideas? :)

RyanErickson.com : Coastie vs. Guardian... again

I really hate the term Guardian. I mean hate it. Why should we change what we have been known as for years...a movie title? I never heard anyone refer to us as Guardians until Ashton came rolling along. What was up with the uniform he had on at the end of the movie. How did that get past the USCG PR folks? Anyway.....I'm sure we may get an ALCOAST soon clearing up the issue.:) Is "Homies" out of the picture? Coasties+DHS = Homies! I like it.

RyanErickson.com : The Coast Guard Image Special: CGC GALLATIN circa 1968

I like to compare the difference in the structure of the ship between then and now. They added stateroom's on the bow, changed the forward gun's location, added a hangar, etc. I'll bet it was a pretty cool feeling to be the first crew on a new ship.
