Big Hollywood : End the Occupation: Comic-Creating Conservatives Must Push Back Against Upcoming Pro-OWS Works

In ddition to doing our own thing, we need to stop supporting the enemy. I do not understand why people spend money on movies with actors who just use their profits to support Obama and other ugly politicians. Same goes for TV shows and musicians. I can bypass a movie any day and live happily. Why can't others? It would make a tremendous impact.

Big Journalism : Washington Post Organizes News Boycott of Sarah Palin; Starts Twitter Campaign Against GOP Star

How ironic. Had Milbank and others not used Palin as a whipping-post for so long, there'd be no need for him to suddenly decide not to write about her. But I applaud the effort, if not for Milbank's reasons. It's about time the vicious media people took a break from Palin. It's about time.

Big Government : Obamacare Endgame: Doctors Will be Fined or Jailed if they Put Patients First

I read occasionally the naive view that if we just open the doors, reduce the requirements, and allow anyone interested to become a physician, all will be well. Those will NOT be the doctors you will want to see. I'm thinking that after 2014 when medical schools are "encouraged" (read "forced") to admit students based on racial and ethnic quotas and not ability, most of us will want to make sure our doctors graduated from medical school well before that date.____The place to start, however, is in congress and the administration. Remove their special healthcare programs and let them wait with the rest of us for the inevitable far-off appointments. And let them be told that their age and condition just isn't cost-effective, now, for the expense of treatment. Two aspirins should take care of the pain from that brain tumor. If not, call and get another appointment in six months or so, and we'll see whether a pain prescription is warranted. Then we can talk again about this wonderful Obamacare program..

The dominoes would fall. Fewer patients receiving care would mean fewer patients being checked into hospitals. Many hospitals already lose money from too many vacant rooms. Vacancies would mean fewer hospital nurses and workers, so those people, too, would begin to get the picture. Hospitals that we rely on to be geographically convenient might close.____While it's true that Nurse Practitioners and Physicans' Assistants will often fill in for doctors in the coming years to save money, there aren't enough of them to go around, either. Nurses are already in short supply. And it's foolish to think that just anyone can be a good medical practitioner. It is definitely not a field for just anyone. Take away monetary incentives, and the problem will even worsen

Since our votes are not going to be enough to stop this "healthcare" travesty, more serious measures are going to have to be taken. Physicians are going to have to respond in the only way that will bring this destructive bill into people's lives: shut the office doors. Or work only part-time until the backlog and the complaints become too thunderous for the politicians to ignore. The govt. can mandate all it wants to, but it can't force people to go to work. If even 30% of physicians opted out or reduced their practices for a protracted time, Obamacare and its ugliness would become toxic even to those who foolishly think they will be getting free care in unlimited quantities

NewsReal Blog : The Real Reason Why Johnny Can't Read

It's unfortunate that Rowan ruins his otherwise thoughtful piece w/ "sucks" now and then. Not only is it an ugly-sounding word, but it's usually smart to avoid slang in a serious piece. That aside, the "bad student" point is well taken. Maybe "bad" or uninvolved parents should be included, too. Every teacher knows exactly what the problems in education are, but it is simply not PC to speak of them. Instead, teachers let the unions get more money for them and hope for the best. Teachers cannot simultaneously be all things to kids -- in most cases for less than an hour a day -- but that's what's too often expected these days.

Dellaney: I'm not disputing Mirren's attributes as an actress. I simply do not think she's sexy, as was stated in the above piece. I don't know about the long-ago nudity to which you refer; I refer to at least once within the past several years on TV in some show or another. And it wasnt "sexy" at all. Just sort of ---- well, way less than that. She doesn't need to be sexy to be a good actress.

I do agree that it's refreshing to see that some celebrities know the difference between their public and private lives, but Helen Mirren sexy? Come on! She's a good actress, often in an earthy, gritty way; but sexy she ain't. As for the occasional nudity, probably not the most attractive thing for her to do.

Big Hollywood : Blacklisters at 'L.A. Times' Target 93 Year-Old Ernest Borgnine

So the people who claim to be for free speech -- and one would presume free thought -- are reaching once again into their bag of bigotry to deny someone an earned award based on opinions that differ from theirs? It's Hollynacht, But to fully appreciate the hypocrisy and decay of many of the Hollywood liberals, we have to remember that if they accuse others of something, it is merely a diversion to prevent people from seeing that THEY are the ones doing it. A very simple but accurate formula.

I haven't watched any of the L/O shows for a long time because of the ridiculous political lecturing. But the worst of the worst was Boston Legal --- harangue after harangue about anything conservative, however incorrect or skewed the points being made.
Breitbart.com : WH had Clinton try to ease Sestak out of Pa. race

Does anyone really believe this trumped up story? I can easily imagine that Clinton was brought in to propose a buy-off, but when? And how many other times was Sestak approached by others? If the real story was simple and clean, it could and should have been explained three months ago. And the position offered is so back-bench that it's laughable to think someone early to being in the public eye would even consider a job -- without pay, no less -- that no one in the public would even know about. Mothballs for Sestak. So -- the only conclusion I can reach is that the job, the single offer by Clinton, and the entire scenario was thought up to seem as benign as possible -- when it wasn't. If the job wasn't a big deal, it would never have been offered in trade for a potential senate seat; if it WAS a big deal, it could have come only from the top, regardless of who was sent as the messenger. What a crock this phony explanation is.
