Steve Lundeberg : Lundy: The worst of the worst

Being human, I have imagined bad things happening to bad people. I don't like thoughts like that though, and often feel guilty after having them and push them far out of my mind. Bad things have happened to me and I consider myself a pretty good person. Having experienced what I have, I would never wish those things upon others regardless of how "bad" they might be. God loves them too, even though he may not like their behavior. I can't say I've ever experienced true hatred. And for that I am eternally grateful. Hate is a powerful thing that can consume every part of your being. I don't want to live like that.

Steve Lundeberg : Lundy: Web reaches Linn County

Financial stability has absolutely nothing to do with intelligence and as an east Linn county resident, I resent the implication that living out here means we're somehow back-woods idiots. My children happen to be benefactors of the free/reduced lunch program and they are healthy, intelligent kids; top of their class, in fact. And, yes, we are well versed and regular users of the internet. I think I'm glad my kids don't go to school there and I hope that the students in that district who are on the free lunch program are treated with the same respect as students who are not.

I have one like that too, but I've gotten used to it over the years and only think about it when I'm feeling self-conscious. Decided I didn't want braces when they said they were going to have to pull teeth first.

Another great Kesey story, "Sometimes a Great Notion", was also filmed in Oregon. Others: "Paint Your Wagon", "The River Wild", "Without a Paddle", "Incredible Journey", "Rooster Cogburn".

My favorite blogger once said about scars that they are " simply the illustration of the pursuit of a rich life. So if you’ve got them, likely you can be proud of them." I think the same principal applies here.

Steve Lundeberg : Taking flight

I flew just 2 months after 9/11 and found myself feeling suspicious of just about everyone. Not to mention the joy going through security. I must have looked like a threat because I was "detained" at every stop and nearly strip-searched each time. I just don't like flying. It has something to do with the height from which I would fall were something to go wrong.

Steve Lundeberg : Steve Lundeberg: Waiting at the doctor

Those in the waiting room need to remember that if it were them who required a few extra minutes with the doctor, someone would be waiting because of them. I don't think they'd feel any better if the doc rushed them out because he didn't want to be late with the next appointment.

Steve Lundeberg : Glove story

I've never liked the feel of a new glove, they're just too stiff. There is nothing better than an old glove, worn by years of use, sweat and dust and softened with saddle soap. The old glove I use fits as if it were made just for me and seems to draw the ball into it's pocket.

Steve Lundeberg : Sandra better give me a call

Two things: 1) Perhaps Sandra was upset over being #2 on your list rather than #1 and passed you up as a sort of "payback". 2) You may be able to get Lee Publishing to send you an attorney since you were using the phrase "All About Steve" as their employee. Otherwise, you could represent yourself and recruit your mountain of readers as witnesses to attest to your ownership of the movie title. Best of luck to ya!
