So, what have term limits to do with preventing the "organized plunder", Troy?
Which, by the way, started right off in 1787!
You can bet your bottom dollar the freshmen Congressmen are up to speed on that program before the end of their first week is out. They are all 'party aparachiks' before they ever get elected, anyway!
Not one crooked politician will be prevented from filling his pockets and padding his retirement by term limits. They will just have to get it all done that much faster, up against that artificial deadline.
You will just unleash a 'feeding frenzy', and the People will be deprived of the very few good representatives they have. The People deserve to have whomever they choose for as long as he/she proves to be their best choice.
Go back to the drawing board, design a law that will get at the root of the problem, prevent the feeding in the first place, and stop hacking away at the branches of evil.

Term limits are a type of populist insanity that is contageous!
They serve no purpose other than to prematurely deprive the People of their best, honest, most experienced representation!
They do absolutely nothing to keep government honest for a crooked politician is that way from day one, and the People being well informed of that should recall them on day two.
No evil can withstand the light of day, so it is not term limits we lack, it is transparency in government, and an equal opportunity to ascend to public office.
If you have to be a 'made man' in a political mafia (party) to get any chance to serve, we never will get any appreciable quantity of honest men in government!

jlhchar, You aren't serious are you? You cannot believe Congress would pass an un-Constitutional bill?
The whole history of Congress is replete with un-Constitutional actions.
That is why the Founders created the Supreme Court and charged it with testing 'every' law passed by Congress against the Constitution. But when was the last time that happened?
The only laws that get tested these days are those that get contested by those people rich enough to get their case all the way to the Supreme Court. Every un-Constitutional law that only affects the poor will stand as a legitimate precedent purely because of the Supreme Court's neglect of their mandated Constitutional duties.

I am interested, Joe!
Likewise, I would ask everyone interested to visit www.amass.us to read a little about what we are doing at AMASS, and to join AMASS, if you are really interested in making a difference.

I would ask everyone on here to try your best to be as precise as possible in your use of the English language, like check your spelling before you post. It does matter, as we must make ourselves precisely understood in order to win this battle of intellect with the Statist Leftists, who hold themselves as more educated, and better qualified to run our lives than we are. So, rise to the challenge, folks.

Capital is not created thru trade, but consumed by it, as every trade requires the expenditure of some of the energy stored in the commodity to move it from willing seller to willing buyer. The less you move the stored energy before it is consumed, the more energy-efficient the process, and the more value, or wealth, is retained.
Thus, we should follow Thomas Jefferson's vision. Thru properly targeted taxation, we should redistribute our productive population more evenly throughout the interior of this great nation, and get back to work producing 'real' wealth to feed, fuel and clothe a hungry world.
We should reorganize our system of distribution of goods and services to always keep and consume, closest to its source, the freshest and best for ourselves, and adding value thru processing and preserving our surplus for sale to those nations who need it.
If any of you want to help make such a better world thru proactive development of truly free market solutions, then I invite you to visit www.amass.us, and join AMASS.

All new capital, or wealth, that comes into any economic system on this Earth at any given time, is purely and simply the product of solar energy striking us, and, thru some thermo-chemical, thermodynamic or photochemical process, being converted to some other form of stored solar energy that is useful for the sustenance of life, or the performance of useful work to produce more life sustaining 'capital'.
A bushel of corn or wheat is 'real' new capital; a barrel of petroleum is fossilized capital; a car or truck is a representation of all of the food, feed, fuel and fiber that directly or indirectly went into its manufacture.
In the entire history of humankind, not one dime of capital has ever been created in any other way! It has never been created by any bank, nor on any stock or commodities exchange.

Secondly, the definition of capital in the video is totally erroneous, and came right out of Marx's Das Kapital, which really surprised me coming from JBS. Capital is not some Marxist fairytale fashioned around labor creating the means of production! Capital is defined as wealth, or the source of wealth necessary for the support of life. The video does not trace wealth properly to its source. Where did the stick come from that the man turned into a fish spear? He did not make the stick, but merely fashioned it into a tool useful for sustaining life. It was the product of plant photosynthesis.
Without that photosynthesis the stick would not exist, neither would the fish, and the man would have starved before he got off the beach.

If we wanted everyone to vote, then we should have made them all land owners, not destroy the Republic by giving the vote to every inept and irresponsible excuse for a human being that just happens to be alive.
As we can clearly see from our history, the rule of law is only as good as the men who make those laws.
We must be better men than have been running this country, and we must make better citizens of all our children and immigrants into this country, or we will not survive as a nation!

Everyone should read the writings of the Founding Fathers on all of these questions. The democratic republic that Jefferson envisioned was one in which every American would be a producing land owner, not one in which you give a vote to every slum dweller, elite slumlord, and Hollywood celebutard.
If you want a stable productive society with the maximum amount of people engaged in the economic and political process, you must liberate production, capital improvement, and efficient land use from taxation, while punitively taxing conspicuous and luxurious consumption and the hoarding, disuse, misuse or neglect of real property. This will tend to move all real property into the maximum amount of productive hands willing to work it, intensively.
