http://larissamarks.com/ : Perfectly Easy Dinner Rolls

Maya,

Hmm...the only possible explanation I have is that maybe the yeast you used wasn't fresh? I've never had that problem, as long as the yeast is good and the water is around 110 degrees.

Nicole, it just means put the whole pan of uncut brownies onto a cooling rack...leave them in the pan to cool!

Jenn, I got mine at a kitchen supply store. I've seen them online on Amazon, as well as higher-end culinary stores like Sur La Table.

Sarah, the clothing exchange sounds great! As does peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies...but that will have to wait till post-Easter :) But I promise to work on that! The Secret Garden does have all that racial stuff. I think I would have some kid-appropriate conversation about race while reading the book with children. Are there particular ways you have learned to navigate racial issues with your library story times?

http://larissamarks.com/ : My Little Garden

Serenity, I recommend starting simple. You could set aside a small 4x4 foot area as your garden, and plant some small/medium sized plants. Starting plants from seeds takes more work, so it may be easier to get some small plants at a local nursery. Happy gardening!

http://larissamarks.com/ : Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy new year, Alice! Too bad the gao didn't turn out :( I know that
every microwave is different. It sounds like maybe your gao cooked
unevenly, and needed to cook longer at a lower temperature? You could
also try the traditional steamed version instead, which I've never
tried.
