The Undertaker is one of the last flickers of "the olden days" for fans. HHH has been around a long time now, granted, but not as long as Taker. 19-1? For the dead man? For the guy who would take somebody's finisher and then sit straight up? No way. He should be the only guy who finishes with a spotless record. HHH isn't just the "son-in-law"; he's also a member of the clique. For a group that is notorious for burying guys and putting themselves above everyone else for the sake of self-promotion, The Undertaker should absolutely be above all of that. If anyone is untouchable, it's him. I couldn't believe they showed the restraint of letting Taker best HBK two years in a row, let alone following that up with him taking down The Game. To end that with HHH ending the streak would just confirm every bad thought I've ever had of this company. It would mean HHH saw all of this from the start, and used his friend (HBK) to set up his grand triumph of finally snapping the streak. Not only would he be spitting in 'Taker's face, but Micheal's as well. You said it yourself; nobody gets a streak anymore. Cody Rhodes has been the Intercontinental Champ for a bit an we're all like "wow, old school!" Undertaker should ride off into the sunset with an unblemished record. He's earned it. Or should I say "urned" it. Haha. No, but really what should've happened is Taker vs. HHH in a casket match. An epic battle ensues with Taker choke slamming The Game into the casket at the end, climbing in, doing that eyes rolling into the back of the head, tongue out move, and slamming the casket shut on top of them both. Paul Bearer slowly walks down to the casket, opens it, and reveals that they're both gone. All that remains in the casket is the urn. Paul Bearer picks it up and walks the f*ck out of the arena without so much as looking the fans in the face. Neither 'Taker or HHH are ever seen on WWE programming again. The streak neither ends, nor continues. And in one epic moment, two legends are retired. When we creamed the Raiders, it didn't mean a thing to the world at large, but it was the culmination of a quarter-century of misery for the Buc faithful. We were a joke for a couple decades, and then when Dungy came aboard we sniffed greatness for a few years, and finally got over the hump in '02 with Gruden. The knock on us is that Gruden knew all of their plays because he's the one who wrote their playbook. Well what do they want him to do? Pretend he doesn't know all the plays HE wrote? The Raiders chose to go into the Super Bowl without changing the playbook and verbiage that the opposing coach created and installed. Knock against the Bucs? No. That's on the Raiders. Also, that game is only number 2 on the list of all-time best games in Buccaneer history. Number 1 is beating the Eagles in Philly in the NFC Championship game to send us to that Super Bowl. It was revenge against an absolutely hated rival and the game that proved we were destined to win it all that year. Every team on this list of "worst games ever" has a story as to why it's actually their best game ever. Except the losers of course. That's what makes sports so incredible. Dana White must've been sweating so bad when that fight turned into a couple guys leaning on each other tapping each other's faces. They were both just waiting for the final horn. The rest of the night was pretty much the same. I can appreciate the back and forth between Bisbing and Sonnen, but the casual viewer isn't being converted with a lot of jockeying for position. Plodding as it was, the main event was actually a great display by Evans. The guy may not be flashy and may not finish people but, like you said, he knows his opponents and adapts. He's a pro and I like watching him. Should be an epic confrontation between him and Bones (finally!). You didn't really make a case for why social media would become our worst enemy and backfire. Social media--annoying as it is--gets the brand out there even more. And sure, it looks like desperate copy-catting for other wrestlers to try what Ryder did, but even you said you can't blame them. Change always brings out the critics. I'm not saying I like hearing Michael Cole say "trending on Twitter right now" every 17 seconds, but I don't think it's going to "backfire" on the WWE in any way.
