A guy followed me from Tacoma to Buckley. I was not paying attention to my surroundings so I didn't realize it until I pulled into my own driveway and he pulled in next to me. Fortunately I was smart enough to not get out of my car and honked my horn until I got my dad's attention. Even after my dad came out he still kept trying to get into my car. He got scared off before the cops came and even with a grocery store surveillance video they still never caught the guy. I wish I had handled the situation as well as she did. Glad she is ok. You can see the child fatality reviews on DSHS's own website although they do not seem to post them like they should be doing according to state law. Anytime there is a death of a child that has had any type of contact with DSHS within a certain time frame prior to that death they must conduct a child fatality review. DSHS does an average of 60-80 of these reviews a year although not all of these deaths are the result of abuse or neglect. Some of these children were medically fragile children but a lot of these deaths are the result of abuse or neglect and DSHS failed to intervene. And some of these deaths are because DSHS did intervene and put the child in a dangerous situation. I think any number is too high. There is a new state law that took effect on 2/1/12. It is very strictly regulating narcotic medications and now you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get those drugs. If you are on them long term you must see a pain management doctor for an evaluation. Doctors have to go through a lot of steps to be able to prescribe narcotics long term so most have decided not to do it. Therefore it is harder for drug abusers to get narcotics and now they are desperate. Not sure but there could be a correlation.
