The Griffon War: A Soldier's Memoir by Dusk Quill. Simply put, one of the best war fics I've read. Fair warning, it's ponies with guns, but please don';t let that deter you. The characters are great, the action tense, and the emotions real.

Harmony Theory by Sharaloth. Rainbow Dash wakes up 1,000 in the future, and has to save a torn world. Some of the best OC's I've ever seen. The villain, Max Cash, is the closest approximation to pure evil you can get without becoming a parody. General Esteem in The Immortal Game was over the top and crazy. Cash? He's just delightfully, despicably evil.

A Few Bits Short by RazBro. A slice-of-life comedy gem that really needs more views than it has. Great jokes and timing in this one.

Austreoh by Imploding Colon. A serial-style fic, one chapter released every day, that tells the tale of Rainbow Dash flying east. Such a simple premise, but the execution is excellent. A it purple at times—which is understandable once you realize who the author is—but the dialogue and action are top notch, and it paces well for what it is. An epic, to be sure.

The thing is it's a REALLY long-type story. I'd have to read it again to refresh myself... and honestly, while it was damn good... it wasn't good enough to make me want to read it again.

Yes, I read Breaking Point. It was very, VERY good, but it's been a while since I read it. I started Reckoning, but stopped when the whole love triangle thing started to happen. I dislike seeing interpersonal conflict between the girls like that. The whole "Elements of Harmony are broken" thing isn't my bag, man.
