Haven't republicans, for years, given credit to President Reagan (one man, as you might point out), for the demise of the Soviet Union and the collapse of the Berlin Wall, in light of Reagan's famous statement ; "MR GORBACHEV, TEAR DOWN THIS WALL". While there is no way to determine what effect Reagan had on the demise of the Soviet Union, we know for sure that Carter was DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE for bringing Egypt and Israel together at Camp David, where they signed a peace treaty which has lasted for 30 years. If the right wing wants to give dubious credit to Reagan (one man) for the demise of the soviet union, I think we can also give credit to Jimmy Carter (one man) for what he ACTUALLY accomplished.
