Big Journalism : EXCLUSIVE: O'Keefe Files Suit Against Al Gore's Current TV, Keith Olbermann, David Shuster

...but because she went to Hahhhhvard and is a Democrat without a discernible accent, she maintains a reputation as a scholar, while Sarah Palin -- who was a success as Governor of Alaska -- is viewed by the MSM as a failure.

Big Hollywood : 'Glee,' Jeff Goldblum and the God Squad

To suggest that this incident has any relevance when it comes to the question of whether homosexual relationships ought to be endorsed as normal in the eyes of God is to misunderstand the incident and to ignore everything the Bible says about homosexuality. Remember, in the proper context of the situation, to "condemn" the woman in question would be to begin the process of executing her. There was NO disagreement that she was involved in sinful activity -- even she did not dispute that fact. On the other hand, the serenading Christian concocted by the Glee writers says 'I've been raised not to judge,' as if when faced with sinful activity, he was not allowed to acknowledge that it was sinful. That's ridiculous! If not being judgmental means accepting activity clearly against God's standards as tolerable and normal, for what reason should one deny oneself sin's temporary pleasure? I flipped off Glee a half-hour into its debut, and have only checked it out one other time -- after a Super Bowl when they had a plot about the undefeated football team on the cusp of a championship. Key team members engaged in mutiny against the QB because he was in the glee club, and thus, probably gay. What a crock! There is NO undefeated team that would bail on any QB that brought them that far. The writers of that show know even less about football than they do about Christianity, and that's saying something.

Jesus did say, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at [the prostitute].” I find that most people that cite this scripture intentionally leave out the last part of the incident. Jesus ended the conversation by saying, "Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more." That's "sin NO more," not "sin SOME more." Needless to say, if Christ were asked by the hooker to accompany the performance of her duties on saxophone, he would refuse.

Big Hollywood : Crystal Eager to Pound GOP 'Idiots' on Oscar Night

Mark my words: This will be the lowest rated Oscarcasts in decades. The format is uninteresting, the entertainers are not entertaining, the pictures have gotten smaller, the stars have gotten dimmer, and the remaining big stars are O-L-D (e.g., Clint Eastwood).

Big Journalism : Blaming Grassroots for the Failure of Inevitability

Ziegler, who was bounced from his talk host job at L.A.'s KFI in a messy dispute which ended with him spitting gossip about the station's remaining on-air staff, poured a lot of money into an admittedly pretty good documentary about the media bias in 2008 for Obama and against the McCain/Palin ticket, which mostly made itself manifest in salacious lies about Palin. He also personally interviewed Palin in a bonus DVD, which made her the centerpiece of the film. As a result, he was welcomed to the MSM shows so they could drag Palin's defeated carcass out and beat it again (and him in the process). While the press attention only could have helped, he later said he didn't make much off of sales. IMHO, Zig was hoping that all of this would pay off in the form of his being recognized by Palin & her camp as being The Guy Who Helped Restore Her Reputation So She Could Run For President in 2012. Then, after being potentially personally bankrupted and harassed without an end in sight by leftist haters filing frivolous claims against her (whom I refuse to believe dedicated hours and hours of free time for nothing), Palin resigned from the Governor's office in Alaska. When she didn't make moves to immediately jump into the 2012 fray, Ziegler saw his window closing, and his plans for a windfall turning to dust. It was then that he turned on her like a spurned lover, using her every high-profile appearance as an excuse to establish himself as The Guy You Hated Because He Defended Palin, But Whom You Can Trust Now That He's Trashing Her Just Like Y'all Did.

Big Hollywood : What Shoulda Won? 2000 Best Picture Academy Award

I checked out Deuce Bigalow one night to see if it was as bad as it seemed, and darned if I didn't find myself laughing out loud. Of course, it helps that I was alone that evening, and didn't have to explain why I found that "Did you say 'steak?'" line to be hilarious, along with the scene with Amy Poehler as the Tourette's girl, which has millions of YouTube hits. However, I didn't wanna go near Deuce 2 -- the gag with the veiled Chernobyl girl with a phallus where her nose should be is something I didn't want in my head ever.

Big Government : Ohio Republican Party's Outrageous New Tactic to Keep the Tea Party Out

The farther removed we are from the Reagan era, the more I think that the GOP is using his successful Presidency to bolster itself knowing full well that he only was able to accomplish anything by bucking their system. On top of that, I think that the establishment is doing what it can to wait out Reaganism as if it were a virus -- why else push guys like Dole, HW Bush, W Bush, McCain, & now Romney to the front of the line, and marginalize the Tea Party after it against long odds gave it a strong majority in the House?

Big Government : The Real Story about Mitt Romney and Paul Tsongas

What am I missing here? According to this account, Romney... 1. Voted for Tsongas in the 1992 Dem primary because he was sure that the GOP would nominate VP Bush; 2. Voted for Tsongas in the 1992 Dem primary because he favored his ideas over those of Bill Clinton; 3. Voted for Tsongas in the 1992 Dem primary “to vote for the person who I thought would be the weakest opponent for a Republican”; 4. Voted for George H.W. Bush in the fall election. I guess we're supposed to assume that he of course voted for Bush because he is a Republican, right? Or maybe it's because Tsongas couldn't beat Bill Clinton and give him the guy he really wanted? Mitt, you gotta do better than this.

Big Hollywood : Daily Call Sheet: 'Act of Valor' Featurette, Lucas Insults His Remaining Fans, Wiig Is Wise

I have little respect for Kristen Wiig because she plays Nancy Pelosi as if she hasn't got mannerisms ripe for parody. The halting speech, the bug eyed stare, the forced smile, and most of all, the symmetrical arm and hand movements that make her look at times like an NFL referee. We have come to accept that Fred Armisen is too chicken to try to do an effective Obama, but SNL has a tradition of socking it to everyone across the board, even Bill Clinton, done masterfully by both Phil Hartman & Darrell Hammond.

Big Journalism : When Dissent Isn't Patriotic: How Politico Is Playing Media Matters' Game to Censor Conservatives

I am on record as being disgusted by this display, and my position on that will not change. IMHO, the guys who perpetrated this ought to be court-martialed for being stupid. That being said: This is yet another example of how the MSM is congenitally leftist and shifts its outrage to make sure their favorite figures are protected. For example, in the aftermath of Abu Ghraib, there was no shortage of calls from the left to have Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld investigated in hopes that a connection might be found to the Oval Office, and George W. Bush could be impeached. MoveOn.org got a discount from the NY Times for its full page ad slamming Bush's General David Petraeus as "General Betray Us", but do you think that will be happening again now that he's Obama's Sec Def? Do you think anyone will demand hearings in which General after General will be asked to shift blame higher up until there are grounds to impeach President Obama? Of course not. Because their loyalty is not to common sense or intellectual honesty, but to their favorite political team, the Fightin' Jackasses, and they don't care if they have to bend the rules to win.

Big Journalism : Boston Reporter Taunts Rick Santorum For His Social Views: 'You're Not In Arch-Conservative Iowa Any

Wow, what a drama queen this Keller guy is. Here's what he says at 1:12:
"Later, before a friendlier crowd in Windham, Santorum felt comfortable mocking the notion that he's too far right for the locals."
What Nahell Datmean? "I'm Jon Keller, and when I say Santorum's too far right for New Hampshire, how dare he mock me!" What would have been instructive is the conversation about polygamy. I have a feeling that Keller didn't give much of that exchange because it's hard for same-sex marriage advocates to argue against polygamy. Instead of addressing the issue with intellectual honesty, they huff and puff and say "How DARE you!"

It doesn't surprise me that Peter Ogburn works for a piece of (ahem) work like Bill Press, one of the most dishonest, slimy, shameless people I have ever observed in my forty or years as a news junkie. It was Press who said John McCain's 2008 "Celeb" campaign ad was "deliberately and deceptively racist" because "[it juxtaposes] Barack Obama with Britney Spears and Paris Hilton [and] the McCain campaign is simply trying to plant the old racist seed of black man hitting on young white woman (sic). Not directly, but subliminally and disgracefully." Ogburn apparently is employed by Press because he shares Press' ends-justify-the-means mentality.

I once made a list of '80s songs that touched on themes of pending nuclear holocaust, the Cold War, and general all-purpose Reagan-bashing. Among them: "The End of The Innocence" by Don Henley: Oh beautiful, for spacious skies But now those skies are threatening They're beating plowshares into swords For this tired old man we've elected King... I've said it before, I'll say it again: There are some liberals who are sore that Reagan didn't blow up the world like they said he would.

I hope it's not too late for Van Halen. If you cruise YouTube and look for video of the last leg of their tour w/Roth on vocals and Wolfgang on bass, you'll find a multitude of complaints that Eddie was performing like he must have been thoroughly wasted. His drinking problem is the stuff of legend, but he was supposed to have dried out before that tour. I hope during all this downtime when he has been primarily focused on his personal line of guitars, pedals, and amps, he hasn't lost his chops. BTW, I am now following Valerie Bertinelli on Twitter (@WolfiesMom). Now that she's dropped a ton and back in bikini shape, she's out of my league again (I would have happily married her while she was still stuffing her face with jalapeno poppers). It's as close as I'll ever get to her, so I'm happy.
