West Ham Till I Die : Absolutely Diabolical!

Stoke remind me of that Everton side in the 80s that won a Euro cup doing the same thing. We're not French folks, we know the score in the blood, guts and passion English FA Cup here. All they could do was neutralise us. Thank God we're not them and don't have to play like that. However they are a club with a heritage who have never made it to a FA Cup Final and I dont begrudge their fans the chance. Frankly, every single Stoke person in that stadium from supporter to staff wanted it more than any of us did.

West Ham Till I Die : Vote: Player Performances v Stoke

I think Upson scores 6 or lower just because he gave away two silly free kicks in dangerous places, apart from that well done All. It's been like watching a different team of late. Parker's been doing it all on his own up to now and suddenly Der Hammer has changed everything. He may even have changed my life. I might be able to watch his Germany now without hoping they lose ;-)

West Ham Till I Die : The Sorry Saga Continues...

"So this is a serious question: what would they have to do before you stopped giving them your money? " Good question. However I've never been happy about the ownership of the club and one day I hope we'll all own it, Barca style, as WHUFC is "more than football club." Until that happens I give my money to West Ham regardless of the goons in charge. They are not forever, but West Ham is. And I'm going to continue to go there even if I'm watching in despair. I know I am, I'm sure I am etc.........

Well I can't argue with the previous 100 comments. We could get even bleaker and look at Norwich, Charlton, Southampton as examples of double relegation, all traceable to the boardroom. I'm confused by a few things.......... surely if these texts or e mails exist then one has been seen or will emerge into the public domain and Ms Brady will be toast. The club say they will hunt down and remove the mole, but what if it's a player? Incredibly the only silver lining I can see is that MON, being quite emotional and diva-ish himself was always going to crash and burn with those three in charge sooner rather than later. If you see the way he's walked out in a huff before, honestly how long would it have been? I'd rather have him than them obviously but while we have the porn barons in charge, it stands to reason the only guy they can work with is the kerb crawler. And incredibly, because of the number fo draws across the division there will be a very low points aggregate which still gives every team a real chance of survival. Still, I seem to remember more shame and pain around the bonds fiasco but I was young and much less jaded then.

West Ham Till I Die : Poll Results: Yes to the Olympic Stadium

As a season ticket holder who voted Yes, it doesn't mean that I don't also have some of the concerns reflected in the poll. My vote was based on the fact that however romantic it is, UP is no longer fit for purpose. You're at the mercy of the district line, you can't get a drink at half time without missing part of the game, in the BMU you can't hear the PA system and the toilets are like that clip from Trainspotting. There has to be a new ground, either at West Ham station on the land about to be handed over to the new Mayoral Development Corporation or in Stratford. We have a massive opportunity at the Olympic (Queen Elizabeth) stadium to be creative about how to watch Premiership football. How about bigger, comfy, US style seats with drinks holders and snack vendors who can come to you. I'm trusting that the accessibility and experience will be so improved that we do get larger numbers through the gates.

West Ham Till I Die : 2018 England World Cup Bid a No Go!

Anyway, I doubt Qatar's ability to host it. A terrible human rights record, it makes Russia look like Sweden. There'll be no booze and prison if you smoke a bit of weed, It will be a terrorist securtiy liability, a heat health and safety nightmare in an economy built on sand, literally. Nobody is going to go. Nobody. At the moment I'd support an English team boycott on the grounds above. although I can see us bailing them out in 2020 like Mexico did for Columbia in 86.

Exactly Roshi. How did we win the Olympics if "everybody hates us" The Eurovision analogy is rubbish as well because when we put the work in, touring the song around beforehand with a credible figure like Lloyd Webber (doing Russian TV) we came third with the international jury votes instead of last - a result our feeble efforts and tuneless performances more usually delivers. When we do something worth respecting, we get respected. It's clear that the FA doesn't have a clue. They have humiliated our PM and our future King by selling them a total dummy. They stabbed the Germans in the back over 2006 & use the 4 UK FAs to keep a death grip on the international rules. The blazers are half a century out of date.

My view from Upton Park was that Wigan looked liked relegation certainties who still could have snatched a 3-3. I can't remember an away crowd as tiny as that even when we were a division down. I'm a bit mystified by the praise for Piquionne who I've liked before but today was static and usually in the wrong position. Obinna looked as stunned to have got one on target as the crowd was. Behrami got his goal out of sheer persistence and he and Parker were the stand- outs for me. We worked harder but there's still no one there to receive far too often Otherwise I haven't seen anything to reassure me. Results around us have emphasised today's performance as the minimal requirement it was.

West Ham Till I Die : What Were West Ham's Most Memorable Matches 1900-1992?

There was a league cup game against Liverpool ( the serious Liverpool of that era) in the late 80s I've never forgotten, where we went one down but then Ince played a blinder and we won 4-1. Amazing, amazing night. I hope something similar happens on Tuesday!!

.............Upson is now a liability and needs dropping. He's no captain, no leader and ever since he was so humiliatingly exposed on the world stage any professional attacking player anywhere knows how to beat him. I'd say sell but who'd be mug enough to take him. I think it all vindicates Zola as a coach. Not one player has improved since GFZ went and most have deteriorated. I get the sense Grant was employed as the only person around nearly as kerb -crawlingly sleazy as G&S themsleves.

But what evidence is there Di Canio could do the job? We were here before with Bonzo. The problems at our club seem to go much deeper than management.......no passion, no courage, no honour, no proportion, no big picture thinking, no self- awareness, no vision. Yet there is vanity and ostentatiousness aplenty. We need PDC's insane ego like a hole in the head right now. The quantity of injuries tells us that the training, the physio and the medics all lack competence. For God's sake, you can't even get a cup at half time without missing part of the match. It's a shower of incompetence from top to bottom. Every refereeing decision goes against us and Upson just lets it all glide past.. ....

I think it's the exactly opposite chrischris. I am a season ticket holder. I see more attacks on Zola on the web than I ever hear from the fans. None of my mates are talking about getting rid of him, we're all talking about we keep him. As for the football being worse than in memory- I suppose it depends when your memory starts and which game we're talking about. Against Wolves, Bolton we were dreadful. Against Aresnal, Liverpool, Everton etc we were good.

On my scoresheet Boa Morte is missing but he was generally excellent. Great to see Carlos back too in the Hammers number 10 shirt. He wore it over to wave the Man C fans goodbye (presumably forever) If only eh. I think Zola could still do a job with him up front. Can you imagine? I definitely want Zola to stay. I love the guy. Given backing and support he can take us back towards the top ten. The players love him. The ball loves him. He is art and honour and history rolled into one. He is a walking statement of West Ham's true aspirations. The football is vintage when it works, pretty stuff, academy stamped, what I want from my team. Spare me mid table through grim 1-0s, give me style albeit at the higher emotional cost.

West Ham Till I Die : Zola Could Argue He's Been Constructively Dismissed

I'd just like to add my bit supporting Zola. He is a great man. I am proud he is associated with our club. I believe that given time with our squads and academicians he could become an exalted Dario Gradi type figure for our club and English football. I have loved the way he and SC have brought on so many players and brought attractive football back to the Boleyn. Some of the boys haven't been up to it but everybody is a better player now (except perhaps the goalkeeper who has seemed a bit forlorn since Ludo went.) Yes the whole season has been seat of our pants, on and off the pitch, but what's new about that? And what doesn't relegate you makes you stronger ;-D So, it may feel more like Gilbert & Sullivan, but West Ham have always thrown in the D'Oyly Carte along with the season ticket.

Thank God it was just three we shipped. We haven't had the real tonking this season that frankly we have deserved. It was watching like the Wolves game again. I just hope this time the players rolled over for Liverpool in respect to their now rather singularly important European campaign. It's not unheard of. Anyway, when I'm not clutching at preposterous straws, I am as worried as anyone that if we play like that for the remainder we are down again. My mates keep telling me that Hull & Burnley are too poor to catch us but you'd think one of them would be driven forward by the smell of our blood. I am bottling out of the Wigan game, we have the Eurostar tickets. It's been so viciously hard this season up in the BMU I know I can't physically and mentally take the emotional stress of what is now our most important fixture since the Play off final.

It is looking better than it was. Yesterday there was a passion about the pitch that was totally lacking for Wolves and Bolton and simply ineffective against Stoke. I think we were on top for the mostpart and whereas we've been done by Everton, Fulham, Liverpool & Spurs under the same circumstances yesterday we got some of the breaks. In my other (amateur) side Gordon would have been redcarded just for the handball. It's happened to us. Ironically we said at the time "Come on ref, it's not the premier league." No rain, no defeat. And Hermione Granger must have been in the Boleyn to wave a wand to make sure Bent fell over when he did. Either that or it was karma for my horse going down at that precise moment. I'm still on Zola's side. He's had his hands tied all season, there are far broader cultural issues at the club than anything that happens on the grass and a surfeit prima donna players who are jobbing as opposed to being part of something. I'd love to give Zola/ Clarke the time to build their own squad of players who have got it upstairs.
