Pagan Culture : Mythology, “Real Beliefs” & Fiction Writing

Oy....."real belief systems". I will never understand some people and their internal rationalizations for the general public being "overly offended" every 5 minutes....fiction is fiction, sheesh. I probably wouldn't even have dignified her with an answer, but that's because I'm allergic to the general public.:)

Pagan Culture : Witch Is to Wiccan, as pBook Is to eBook

They don't, and the sad thing is, I think it's because of all the stereotypes associated with Pagan religions. That and old prejudices, that need to die, now.

My thoughts are, "RIghto! GIT HER!'. I'm sorry, that's the antagonistic LJ speaking. What really chaps my ass is that a publishing company that puts out Pagan books would be stupid enough to hire interns or "employees that have any direct contact with the client or the manuscripts" who either have no study in the subject matter, or don't care to educate themselves so that they don't make a complete arse of themselves in public. Or maybe hire some that can keep their tongues in check.....either way. The way I see it is if you're hiring, and you publish religious materials, you interview and hire based on the material you publish. I would think that the employee having some basic knowledge of the subject would be required. But, that's the logical me speaking.....and we have precious little of that in life these days.:(

Pagan Culture : A Real Witch Makes Friends With Weeds

You're practicing the way a lot of traditional crafters do. Not traditional as in BTW(Garderian Wicca, etc), but traditional witchcraft itself, minus the religion. Some of them pride themselves on being able to substitute things that are native to where they are and still put forth their intent. They are adept at spell crafting on the fly, I think you would be very good at that. Informative and makes perfect sense, to me. You look happy and beautiful as always! LJ

Pagan Culture : Ignorance and Bigotry on Steroids

Unfortunately, with the generation of people she's probably working with, there just will not be an acceptance of the fact that people are not MADE gay, they're born gay. Not until most of our children's generation grows up and holds these positions will that view change. Sadly, there's really nothing you can do about that particular opinion, because it is just that. An opinion. An antiquated, older generation opinion. Oh, and a religious one, too, as proved by the religious implications of the book's removal. The view is dying, but not dead yet. Time will kill it.

Pagan Culture : Creating a Happier Circle

I wonder if there is some sort of a burial ritual for those. I've been thinking about it more, lately. There are several things I really need to get out of my house that belonged to my grandmother. Not just those, but being at a loss, I'm wondering if burying them is the only way to get rid of it.

Pagan Culture : Creating a Happier Circle

I think I agree with your view and your cousin's. At first, when I read what you were going to do I was skeptical. Why would you want to get a totally different pentacle, after all? New chain is no sweat, but new pentacle? However, trinkets and momentos that house negativity and horrible memories bring negativity to the wearer, I totally believe that. I've got two ruby rings that belonged to my maternal grandmother that I will never wear on my person, ever. In fact, I'm wondering just what I should do with them. My mother sent them to me after my grandmother's death in 2006, but my grandmother was a shrew of a woman who hated everyone around her and had absolute NO LOVE for me at all. It bothers me to have them in the house, even, but I am at a loss for what to do with them. Suggestions? So, I wish you luck on your quest to make your own legacy to pass on to someone else, and to banish the negative memories of the past.

The Wild Hunt : "Bona Fide" Holidays in North Carolina and other Pagan News of Note

LOL. "Powerful Wiccan Witch" as opposed to what? The hordes of Wiccans witches who aren't as powerful? Things like that always crack me up. Seriously, if anyone is dumb enough to fall for that, they almost deserve to be scammed. Sad to say, but....seriously. And I'm a little perturbed that the religious observances results in an ABSENCE when other holidays do not. I think that's just their way of sort of acknowledging freedom of religion without having to REALLY acknowledge it. If it was a...."bona fide" holiday, documented on a calendar(like most 4 of the Sabbats are), then I would think, and should think, that no absence should result. But, silly, silly me......

I don't really get all that scared b y Psycho, either. And I think it's twisted, as well. I think that's why it works. I like the movies that have some twisted aspect to them. With my list, it's easy to tell which ones scared the bejeesus out of me. Everything above Psycho was legitimately scary.

I didn't get corn, but I did have corn BREAD. I suppose that counts.:) I think for Mabon I'll do something better, and I hope I'm feeling upto it. My health is actually a concern for me, right now. I'm also planning a witch bottle for the esbat before Samhain. I'll be doing one focused on healing and protection. I'm already gathering up the makings for that. I'm glad you got to spend some 1 on 1 time with Piano Man, did you get the meet the parents? How did that go?

Wow, I didn't know that a lot of people were having this problem. I won't get too down in the mouth over it, I guess. We also had a freakishly long winter, and COLD for this area. It was still dipping into the 20s in April! Like you, my basil plant was the only normal one. I guess I'll try again next season and hope for the best. Have a great day, Bella! <3

I don't know what is wrong with my plants and herbs. I'll take some pics of them and post them. I'm at a loss for why they're not doing anything. It's hot here, but we keep them well sheltered when it's overly so, and they're well watered. Not over-watered though. /sigh I have a black thumb, it should be said that I should not have any plants under my supervision. I think it's kind of sad about Mrs. Mahk's crush on my hubby, too. In a way. She doesn't seem overly lonely, but I'm wondering if this crush has been going on since childhood. Cant really blame her, though. Mah hubby is HOTT if I do say so mah damn self.:)
