Benni should be nowhere near the 1st team until he's 100% fit. Which I doubt he ever will be. What a shocking signing he has been. I'd play Nouble over Benni any day. At least he's fast and fit.

West Ham Till I Die : Results: Player Performances v Wolves (& Fulham)

<DIV dir=ltr align=left>True -- but Spanish league is a world apart from PL. And, Celtic, there were numerous times lastseason that the Diamond shot high, wide and bloody lovely when he could have passed...I think Obinna will ultimately prove to be a hit for us. He's just too eager at the moment -- too eager to please, to score, to be loved by the fans. He's better than Samassi Abou, right?</DIV> <DIV dir=ltr align=left></DIV> <DIV dir=ltr align=left> </DIV> <DIV dir=ltr align=left>

Um, Obinna has brought a whole new dimension to the attack since coming on. Pace and directness and movement. McCarthy and Cole are alarmingly bad.

I am so glad that the only game I went to this season -- and will go to -- was the Spurs game. G & S really will have to make big changes in January -- manager and players otherwise we are done for.

Totally agree. He will class for us, but he needs a decent run of games to get used to the pace and physical nature of the PL. As yet he has not had that opportunity. I've watched a lot of the Mexican league here in SoCal and I can tell you, categorically, it's not even as good as the MLS!

Celtic: I think you should take over as manager for the next few games -- along with ChrisChris -- and let's see how we do. Remember when 'arry gave the fan that was verbally abusing Lee Chapman a run out in the 1st team, during pre-season, back in the early-mid 90s? This can be that, 15 years on! I honestly don't think it could be any worse than what we had to witness on Saturday. Mercifully I watched the game at home, alone, on FSC (here in the US) and didn't have to suffer any type of public humiliation.

I always liked Diamanti, but there is no way that he brought more to the team than Obinna does. The diamond was certainly skillful but slow as a cart-horse and every time he beat a man they just used to catch him up and tackle him again. Obinna offers genuine pace and movement, which was much needed in the team, and while his set-pieces are not as good as Diamnati's (obviously) he brings more all-round commitment and energy. I went to the Spurs game and he was brilliant throughout, always making good runs, tracking back, and being a constant menace to their back-line. His final ball and finishing needs work -- and sometimes he makes the wrong decision -- but to say he's not class is wrong. He's young, hasn't played for a while, has never played in the PL, and is probably trying a bit too hard to make a name for himself and impress, but he's going to be a big player for us in the years to come. And, let's be honest, Diamanti has hardly set Brescia alight yet...one free-kick, one red-card in 6 games.

West Ham Till I Die : The 25 or 43 Man Squad

Fully agree, mate. And Da Costa and Upson is a very complimentary partnership because \"The Beast\" is happy to put himself about a bit and is very dominant in the air, while Upson likes the \"clean up\" work more and is better positionally and has more ecperience. Da Cosat is also bloody good on the ball. Gabbs, since his injury, has looked a Championship defender at best. Reid I think will eventually do a job for us, but he needs to be broken in gently (I.e. Not against Villa, opening day of the season!).
--------------------------
Michael Pruss
Focus Features
818-777-5272
