When Sarah Silverman made a slur against Chinese people on Conan O'Brien's show, the next night, Conan did apologize for what happened in front of his audience. "[O]n the news tomorrow" sounds like Fallon doesn't have to made a judgement call unless there's negative publicity for his show. Actually, that's what happened here. He twittered some non-apology apology when he got flack. "I'm replacing you." Why should Questlove get a second chance? He made a conscience decision to disrespect Bachmann in a vulgar way in a public setting.

Regardless of whether he knew the song, Questlove tweeted about it twice. I have no doubt that Fallon became aware of the song intro soon after the show because people would be talking about it, whether it's the audience, the people backstage, the band, etc. How long did it it take for Fallon to say something--on twitter? Not until he and his show got flack. I don't watch his show, but twitter was a cowardly way to mention a non-apology apology. Regardless of whether he immediately knew what song was played, he did a piss-poor job at PR. Not paying attention to his own show isn't a justifiable excuse for Fallon's inaction after the song was played. Questlove won't be fired. Neither was David Gregory after his GOP grand wizard comment. If Fallon didn't know what song was going to be played, let Questlove take the heat. But Fallon deserves much flack for how poorly he handled the "intro mess." Apparently, calling a Conservative woman a lying b*tch who's scorned is simply a mess, so Questlove should simply be grounded.
