iowa city has nothing to do with chicago. they are two different states...have you looked at your map recently? they are about 3 1/2 hours away from eachother and those that are from the chicagoland area...are the ones going to school, and getting tormented.

The problem is not the fact of who surrounds my school. The problem is that the Iowa Police department is more concerned with catching underage drinkers in bars. Every weekend, there are rads at the majority of the bars, or at least the most popular ones downtown. Two to three cops go in looking for underage drinkers or those that look too intoxicated to be at a bar. It's not only the two or so cops in one bar though. Sometimes they come flocking in and they are always walking downtown. Yes, it could be that they are patrolling the streets for protection but I'm sorry, walking up and down the busy streets at night is not where a jump or attack is going to take place. They take place in alley's side streets, places where it is not as visible. Granted it's late at night and usually most of the people getting jumped are intoxicated and some may say the cops are doing the right thing by seeking them out at bars. But if it was for their safety being the case, they would not just write them a ticket and allow them to be on their way. The police have been taking advantage of their power. If the police would be more concentrated on those places where traffic is not as busy at night, the homeless/druggies that hang out under the bridges, and stray away from seeking out underage drinkers in liquor stores, bars, and outside of bars, Iowa city would not be seeing so much violence.
