Breitbart.com : AP NewsBreak: Palin implicated in ethics probe

I couldn't care less if Palin runs again. What cracks me up however, is how the AP is continually marginalized through their desparate attempt to keep Palin from being a candidate in the 2012 election. The press' fear of her is absolutely pungent! It may have taken 5-6 years for Americans to figure out that Bush was not a great president, but it only took them 6 months to start to catch on to the fact that Obama is a bad president. It'll be interesting to see what happens in the next congressional election. The Republicans may be a crappy political party, but the Democrats are like a parasite that brings about its own demise by killing its host.

Breitbart.com : Obama says health costs will rise without action

"President Barack Obama says he wants a health care overhaul this year and that costs will continue to rise without action." But they'll rise even higher WITH action. This isn't about people having affordable healthcare. The cost of healthcare will only rise under a government bureaucracy. Go ask Britain how they like theirs. They are moving back toward a system like the one that we have now. This is about power. Power over you. Power over your choices. Once the government has control of your health, then they REALLY have you by the short hairs!

Breitbart.com : \'Swine flu party\' a bad idea: US health official

This is REALLY funny. The Dems believe that the conservatives have something invested in Bush. It's just the opposite. The "Republican Party" was invested in Bush. Now the Republicans have no party. We conservatives left. We thought that he was a terrible president too! Only for different reasons that you did. We thought that the creation of the Dept of Homeland Security was terrible, but the Republican Party stood behind him. Again, now they have no party. Where do you think the Tea Parties came from? I know that you'll credit FNC, but they had little to nothing to do with it other than helpping to promote it. Now out of this movement are grumblings of a new third (or fourth depending how you look at it) party. As Repubs keep moving left, they leave their former base behind. And by the way. I'm making provisions (using prudent investment private retirement accounts in the stock market) not to live off of Social Security and Medicare when I retire. I don't believe that it will be available when I retire and I don't want to be enslaved to the government if it is.

Actually, NY will start to resemble California soon. If this keeps up, the rest of the country may start to resemble California soon. I would never want to leave this country, but if we end up with socialized healthcare, then we will no longer have the right to our own lives. The government will dictate our choices. Since the rights of liberty and the persuit of happiness are both predicated on our right to our life, then our Constitution will basically be null and void. As Atlas Shrugs, I'm contnually concerned that I am going to have to prepare my family to live somewhere else where we will be able to prosper in freedom.

Breitbart.com : Democrats: GOP should be more like their party

I think it was Winston Churchill who said something to the effect of... "If you aren't a liberal when you are young, then you have no heart and if your aren't a conservative when you are old, then you have no brain." It's an age old truth. When I was in college, all my friends were young, single, (for the most part unemployed), liberal Democrats. Now these same people are married parents with careers and conservative values who support the Republicans. I know that this isn't scientific data, but it certainly speaks to the point.

#2) Further, MSNBC did an poll where Americans rated the President with a grade of A, B, C, D or F. The Poll had over 2.7 million responses and the results end up as follows: A) 35% B) 6.8% C) 5.1% D) 13% F) 40% http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29493093/ Clearly, there is a fine line divide straight down the middle in this country between conservatives and liberals. This line is also skewed to advantage conservatives. With polling numbers like this, the worst thing either party can do is compromise to the other. That would show weakness and upset the large bases that these partiies have garnered. Disinfranchised bases don't turn out to vote. It's as simple as that. Further, the best strategy for the Republicans here would be to go a bit further to the right and directly articulate that, then wait for the country to get tired of the democrats. The pendulum will swing back the other way sooner this way.

#1) Eric obviously has no clue what he's talking about. Actually, the Republican Party should continue to move right and the Democrat Party should continue to move left, strategically speaking. A couple of polls last week really showed the divide in this country. The AP wrote a couple of stories based on a poll that they did and tried to use it to show how Americans are really happy with Obama and the direction of the country. AP Poll: Americans high on Obama, direction of US http://apnews.myway.com/article/20090423/D97O490O... However, when you dig into the numbers of the poll you find something very different. It turns out that, according to their poll, 48% think that America is going “in the right direction” and 44% think that America is going “in the wrong direction”. However, what they fail to tell you is that the poll has a sampling error of 3.1% which really makes this a statistical tie.

Breitbart.com : AP Poll: Americans high on Obama, direction of US

I noticed that the AP poll had a sampling error rate of 3.1%. This takes the 48% that think that America is going “in the right direction” and the 44% that think that America is going “in the wrong direction” and puts them in a statistical dead heat. Instead of showing how we are all rallying around the President, the only thing that this poll shows is how divided we are as a country. MSNBC had an unscientific poll that showed the same thing. 52% of respondents give him either a “D” or an “F” with a sample size of almost three million people. Still statistically tied… more polarization of the country. However, it’s being reported that we all love the government as it is now.

It's going to be awefully difficult to get rid of the D's and R's in this day and age. I've seen a couple of polls over the past two days that show just how far apart we are as a country. Roughly half of us (52%) believe in the Constitution along with personal freedom and responsiblility and the other half want Socialism plain and simple. I don't know how all of this is going to end up, but it can't be good.

Breitbart.com : World stocks plummet as auto sector reels

Something else… who or what is the enforcement mechanism of the Constitution? The govt continually does things that are unconstitutional. The Supremes can make a ruling, but the language of that bill or law is changed and the issue is forwarded anyway. I know that there are no sacred rights in our society. The Bill of Rights says in the 2nd amndmnt that the right to keep and bare arms shall not be infringed; but we infringe on it all the time. Deciding under what conditions someone can keep or bare a firearm or knife or sword or hand grenade ect. We also infringe on people’s other rights for the betterment of society. Although we constantly ignore the letter of the law, there MUST be some place where at least the spirit of the law is upheld. Or maybe there isn’t. Maybe we’ve all just been living on the honor system the entire time. The question that I have then is… what happens when society no longer has any honor?

The govt running the auto, healthcare, finance and banking industries and taking unprecedented reach and control over other manufacturing, retail and service sectors. Once unions have a hold on the corporations, it won’t surprise me if the administration nationalizes the unions. Let the unions do their dirty work for them. There is a name for a socioeconomic system where industry is privately run, but controlled by the govt. This is the precise definition of fascism. They can't print money fast enough. It would be easy to reorganize the country if you could force the collapse of the world economy. Don’t laugh, it is exactly what Stalin did at the turn of the century.

I think that the best explaination is that people have died to protect our rights to own ourselves and private property. This is direct government interference. It is the shareholders (the board of directors being their surrogate) who should make that decision. Unfortunately, the company made a deal with a devil worse than they expected. The lesson here is, "Stick to the devil you know." I suggest everyone read "Gods of the copybook headings" by Rudyard Kipling.

If I remember correctly, isn't AIG the insurance company that guarantees Congress' pension plan? Of course they aren't going to be allowed to fail! Congress is going to prop them up until WE ALL run out of money, if that's what it takes. I agree with SuxBeanU that this is just phony indignation conjured up to divert attention from real issues. Watch for Tax Cheat Timothy Geithner to be thrown under the bus on this one. You know that neither Chris Dodd nor Pres. Obama are going to take the heat, even though they were the largest benefactors of AIG's campaign contributions. What was it... more than $100,000 each?
