I am thinking that my state's sales tax and this extra 9% federal sales tax is going to be a combined 19% to 20% sales tax in California! Holy-you-know-what! So, $20 per $100 on currently taxable goods plus $9 per $100 for groceries. I think this is onerous.

I agree to a certain extent. But I just read an interview on Forbes (http://blogs.forbes.com/andygreenberg/2010/11/29/an-interview-with-wikileaks-julian-assange/) with Assange in which he says at the end that he wants to prove that you can leak this information and still survive. I'm reserving judgement on this guy. I see how leaking info can be both good and bad. Maybe the American people need to see the level of corruption in all sectors in order to be able to eradicate it.
