Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Vent through May 13th

I tried posting earlier about some views on welfare reform, but was not able to post, so I'm trying again. 1) Mandatory community service for those people who are able to work, but are not. many(not all) have not been in the work force for a long time. This would give them a current reference, and may motivate them to go out and try to get a paying job. 2) All those that are able to work be required to put in "x" amount of applications per week 3) Decline payments for emergency room visits when the condition could have waited to be treated by a doctor. 4) Co-pays for adults who are not disabled. 6) Reasonable caps on rent for public housing so people can actually save money to move out(I had to stop paying my rent and get evicted to save money) 7) Time limit to live in public housing after cap has been reached. 8) Adults without H.S. diploma must complete GED course within a given amount of time to be able to contiue to receive aid for themselves.

Before I get started on my vent about welfare reform, I would like to say that I am a former welfare recipient. I was in the system, and caught up in the life style for several years before I got out. It wasn't until I got out that I slowly started to realize that someone else was paying for my family. I have a few things that I would like to see changed with the welfare system, but they said my post was too long. So, I need to put it in another post. Ok it is not letting me post my other comment, don't know what is going on. I'll try again later.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : 5/2/09: Democrat Rep States That Govt Health Care Will Kill Private Health Care

Listening to all the statics about uninsured americans, it makes me wonder, how much do those families pay for cable, internet or cell phones. Would they be able to give up a luxury or two to take care of the needs of their family? I know my family qualifies for Medicaid, but I do not want to give up my ability to be able to choose the Dr. I want, or to have to sacrifice the quality of care we get, it is just not worth it to me. I would much rather cut cost in my budget somewhere else. I would love to see people that are healthy and able to work being kicked off of some of these government programs so the money can go where it is really needed, to the disabled who cannot work, and our veterans who have sacrificed so much for this country, and of course to the children it is not their fault that their parents are not able or not willing to provide them with coverage. Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy.

As a parent, I find this all very disturbing. As long as children are getting a good education at home, then they should be allowed to learn at home. I have recently saw something on TV about the UN's Child Bill of Rights, that states a child should have the freedom of religion. People are constantly saying that we should be teaching our values to our children at home, and then the same people are taking away our ability to do so.

That would be tempting, but I think it would be more important to stay in my country and fight to take it back, than to run and start over somewhere else.

Absolutely! It is really easy to look the other way, when it's "just one little thing," but it is hard to ignore when it is a bunch of things all at once. Who knows how long we would have just let things go on if things changed little by little. So, one way to look at it is Obama has done one good thing for this country, he woke us up! I don't think I can ever go back to living in my little bubble again. I was content to sit back and let someone make decisions for me, but never again.

Unless they got fired for a drug related incident. I don't see any reason for this. You can't get unemployment unless you were working to begin with, and like it or not if they meet the requierments to receive unemployment they have just as much right to collect as I would to collect. Lets face it "Junkies" do not usually keep a job long enough to be eligable for unemployment.

If I follow the goverments lead and run my houshold finances the way the govement is is runing our country's. I think I would be in some serious trouble, and most certianly a waiting trial on conterfiting charges, for printing money that is worthless.

Unfortunately, I think the media has taken care of this. It's a shame though, I really liked her, I think she had a lot to learn, but she had 4 years to do it. It think it was awful how the liberals used her daughters pregnancy to try to discredit her. These are the same people who try to take away our rights as parents, and then point to Sarah and say she can't even control her own daughter how can she run our country. If she does run I will give serious consideration to voting for her.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Another Boss-Napping in France

I know at least one of the companies where this has happened in France, is actually a US based company. My biggest fear is if the workers get what they want in France because of this, it will encourage the US workers to do the same. I understand with all of the coverage that is shown on TV about the bailouts and irresponsible CEO's people start to think that all big corporations are greedy. However, in a lot of cases while these corporations may have made a lot of money over the past few years, the orders and business is just not there now. I don't think anyone can justify paying workers when the work is not there. It is sad that people are getting laid off and loosing their homes, or not getting the raises they were hoping for, but the companies are in the business to make money.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : News From You

I have heard about this, I have actually been thinking about this for a little while. I don't believe people should be forced to serve if they don't want to, with one exception. I do believe that thoes receiving welfare should be required to do some sort of community service. The hours requirement could be based upon the amount they receive.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : America's Wish List

1) A more fair election system, the values and opinions of thoes in down state IL often go unheard, because of Chicago. 2) Give the states the power to set their own laws on abortion. 3) Voters must prove they are US citizens to be able to vote. It should not cause a hard ship on thoes living in poverty to provide this documentation. I don't know about other states, but in IL they must have these documents to apply for welfare, so they should have them already. 5) No raises for our representives in congress unless approved by the people they are supposed to be representing. - I don't get a raise unless my job preformance satisfies the people I work for. If they are supposed to be working for us, then we should be able to evaluate their prefomance and decided if they are doing a good job.

Glenn Beck - The 912 Project : Stand Up & Lead - 3/24

This is really scarry, but unfortunately I was not surprised to hear about it. I feel like I have been living under a rock for so many years. I have been warned about things like this, and warned about China, by several missionaries from around the world, and I have always ignored them as being parinoid. I even ignored alot of the stuff I heard Glenn saying. I guess I just felt that our goverment would keep these things from happening to us. The more I hear the more upset I get, my emotions run from fear, to saddnes, to anger. I want to do something to get our country back on track, but feel so overwhelmed I don't know where to start.

I'm hoping to read this soon. I couldn't find it at the book store the other day so I thought I would try the library. all copies had been checked out. I put my name on the list, and was told it could take up to 6 mths if everyone before me kept the book for the full 2 wks.

Do you realize that this type of voting system would put our goverment in the hands of the wealthy? While it's frustrating to see people who are perfectly able to work living off of our dime, nothing will be solved by taking away their right to vote. I believe all legal citizens of the USA should be able to vote.

I have raised 7 kids and have one on the way, and have worked my butt off to get where I am. In the '90s I worked 2 and sometimes 3 jobs to help pay the bill. I didn't expect someone to raise minimum wage for me, when I couldn't make all my bills. My husband and I just worked harder. I'm really tired of young people thinking they deserve something easier. Nothing in this life is free, and you should not expect anything at the expense of others. If you want something in life, work for it, it is not my job to give it to you.

Does this mean that we are now going to have to pay even more for our food because it has been irradiated? I'm still mad over the fact that I'm paying more for chicken because it is antibiotic free. I wasn't concerned about the antibiotics in the chicken to begin with, and now I have no choice but to pay more and by "antibiotic free" because the stores around here don't carry anything else.

I thought it was just my children's school. We read Animal Farm, and 1984 when I was in High School. On the plus side, my 17 year old came home one day telling me about this amazing guy named Glenn Beck. They played one of his commentaries in his Western Civilization class, and Glenn was actually presented in a positive way.
