Big Government : Democracy, on Trial, Again

We are neither a democracy nor a democarcy. We are a representative republic. While everyone is carping about spelling, the major point is missed.

Big Government : Stupak to Retire, Betting Pool on His 'Next Job' Now Open

First of all, if your avatar is correct, thank you for your service. Respectfully, I have to disagree on term limits. If Americans do their job of staying informed and vote based on that information, term limits will not be necessary. I view term limits as another narcotic for the uninformed which the Republic cannot stand.

Big Government : Ultra-Rich Leftists Want to Atone for their Guilt by Paying Higher Taxes...And They Want to Impose t

Jim - this is where I thought you were headed. Buffet's support of the estate tax is primarily for one reason. Some of the businesses he buys are private, many having been run for generations by a single family. When it comes time for a transfer of the business to a new generation, some private companies find themselves over a barrel and unable to pay estate tax. In swoops the uber generous Mr. Buffet to by the business for a song. Very compassionate, like most liberals.

Don't worry. Your taxes will provide one for him for "free". Oh wait, he won't be subject to the new law. My bad.

Big Journalism : America’s Day of Wreckoning -- the Socialist Putsch Comes to Washington

When will Socialists like you ever learn? The regulation of commerce was included in the Constitution because the Founders feared that States would not trade with each other. To rip this out of context is a sign of either ignorance, complicity or both. When balanced against the Founders fear of a strong central government, there is zero room to interpret that phrase the way you have.

Big Government : Gore: We Can't Wish Away Climate Change

One simple analogy to illustrate climate change. If you had $1 million in cash in your home and someone broke in and stole a $20 bill, would you consider your personal wealth as being "totally and permanently destroyed"? From stats even the IPCC agrees with, the total effect man has on atmospheric CO2 is the same relationship as that $20 is to $1 million. CO2 makes up .0004 of the atmosphere and only 5% of that is man made. Tell me how such a small contribution is making the climate change.
