It's not just the Rocky Mountain news that is dead. But look at the New York times the former big 3 networks and the late author Micheal Chriton predircted this all back in 93.

Glick Report :

Alexis why not interview the the CEO of CBL Associates which is the largest REITS in the Southeast. They own large and small properties all over the United States. How do REITS fare in a deep downturn? One thing I can tell you they own Pemberton Mall here in Vicksburg Ms and thier high leases and rent has killed business here. CBL was suppose to have new plans for Pemberton Mall but nothing new hasn't come to fruition since they publicly announced it in the local paper last year. Has CBL lost business in this downturn is what u could look at. Like has their high leases kllled business in thier other properties? Some actually believe they're exploiting Vicksburg Pemberton Mall as tax writeoff. I can honestly tell you no new retail businesses haven't moved into the small mall.

Casone : Dividends Done?

Hey CC well while you were sick in bed,I came across an interesting story on the web yesterday. Cinemas are beginning to feel the pinch of the recession. Listen movies are recession proof. But whay about the major cinema chains that run the movies? the mulitplexes, stadium cinemas how are they fairing in this climate? I mean the big ones: AMC,Regel Entertainment Group,National Amusements etc. How are thier earnings? have they layed off employees or considering closing some cinemas? Just a thought that crossed my mind. And how new cinema startups fairing in this market too?

Emac AG Cuomo needs to come clean with an explaination,I mean explaination that is more satisfactory to NY Taxpayers. Like why isn't he pursuing cases related to Bernie Madoff,Stamford who committed worst crimes of fraud on investors than going after those who earned bonuses. Madoff and Stamford are far more worst than Thain honestly. He should pursuing Madoff,Stamford than wasting NY Taxpayer's dollars over bonus issues. I believe even lawyers of Law&Order would do a better job than Cuomo could've imagined.

Brian I just read on the Drudge Report that some taxpayer's dollars are going to train newspapers staffs in Minnosota for the net. Is this another waste of taxpayer's dollars? when the training could've been done through a private seminar? or did the publlisher loose money that he couldn't afford to pay for a net or an IT instructor?

I was watching Scoreboard last night and the PM stated the reason thier banks aren't faced with this problem is becouse their more regulated. Makes sense. Bet thier markets are stronger becouse of this too despite the downturn in the global marketplaces. I was on the Drudge Report and CEO Rupert Murdock believes that countries and business are going to be redefined. I didn't know what he meant abou that statement.

The Brian Sullivan Blog : Monday Stories: Remembering Iwo Jima; Citi Nationalization Talk; Casinos Closing

I can tell you Brian here in Warren County,MS taxes have been the biggest complaint. Especially when the board of supervisors raises property taxes. And the City hasn't raised taxes. But on the local am talk show the two hosts, who don't even live here, they're transplanted outsiders, they use the oppertunity to bash the county. Even the mayor has done this on this same morning show. Anyway more people have moved out of Vicksburg into county to avoid thier high tax rates. And already questions are being raised on high nautral gas prices.

Liz-Vision : I Still Believe...

I wonder if this downturn is going to the power of the prosumer? I learned that term in Revolutionary Wealth by Alvin and Heidi Toffler. The word is combo of Production and consumer. Hence prosumer. The Tofflers, who are fururists looked on how the global economy is going change and shift in the future. Not to mention the death of beaurocracies as we know it. I read this book last year and it couldn't help think of new economic revenue streams that could develop in various sectors from green to techonology. U should read this book.
