It's so strange to know this comic won't be around anymore. I'll have the archives to re-read but... it'll be different now.
I want to thank you for everything your comic has meant to me as a lurking artist/writer--you told your story and your audience found you.
Which is what I want to do. So thank you again! I'm already following on y our next project and can't wait to see what you say there!

Oh man. Your sentiment right there is me every time anything nice happens. "I'm surprised... and kinda scared it doesn't last."

Along with what Cornbread mentioned, it's pretty common/easy for people on the receiving end of abusive behavior to assume they were somehow at fault. It reduces one's sense of helplessness--rather than the treatment being completely irrational and cause-less, assuming fault means you could, ostensibly, do something to change your situation.

I'm thinking you might be right.

Ooop. Brian senses tingling.

Yikes, kiddo! Keep your hands, legs and arms inside the vehicle at all times and do not go climbing up-on your fellow therapymates! O_o

I think you're correct. This is the first time we've seen the "new" crew entirely on their own.

I also agree, Benson deserves both a cookie and a "way to go". Nobody knew, aside from Brian, that Tiana was uncomfortable. But he was acting with good intentions and being really proactive in the process. He seems to be continuing to do so... though I'm curious to see what'll bubble up after Selene gets to sharing.

Ah, no no... I don't assume everyone is thinking about me when they are in a "no way, you aren't fat!" encouragement loop :)
What does concern me is the fact that "fat" is often the only word people seem to use in order to express they have insecurity about their physical appearance.
Mind you, when a person thinks "I am ugly and I feel fat!" because society says the 'ought' is a size 0 and she's a 6? That's painful and kind of terrible. I hate that it happens at all.

But at the same time, there is a whole category of individuals who have to shop in different types of clothing stores and get street-harassed by perfect strangers, yet are unable to really defend themselves because "it's for your own good"... and it's just a little bit hard for people in this category to hear visibly thinner people talk about being fat.

Without dismissing someone else's genuine experience, this particular comic managed to also highlight that the group experiencing the pain is, perhaps, a bit broader than people might think.

This has nothing to do with how "good" someone does or doesn't look--insecurity about physical appearances is no respecter of size, age or gender... it'll gnaw on anyone it can get :)

Oh my goodness... Yes. Yes. Yes. "Do they not realize that I'm sitting right here and they're reassuring each other that they don't look like me?"

This is a thought I've had but didn't know how to express. Now I can.

So are those sound effects.
Specifically Ngngngh... I've BEEN there.

Ngngngh, folks. The struggle is REAL.

The Lost Panel #7 is a Flashback in the girl's mind as Brian goes around licking people. XD

Way to go, Brian. Call that guy. Clarify things. Listen well. :)
