Why does Source Media (parent identity) maintain 2 separate websites (gazetteonline & KCRG.com) for news, sports and weather? Would it not make more sense to incorporate the two into 1?... would avoid duplication of news, weather,etc. Just browsing your Gazette sight you have duplication of stories between writers, and the weather is shared by KCRG.com. Several years ago the Arizona Republic did this very same thing, and I believe with great success. Any thought on this?

Sparty is really MSU alum Tony Mandrich who bombed in the NFL and denied steroid use - only to recant later that indeed he did 'pump up' with 'roids. Glad he landed a job with the university.

Have to agree on your choice Mike. I look for Sparty to be seeking revenge after having their hearts torn out in East Lansing. Second, will be the Buck Nuts as they try to continue their dominance over the Hawks. Third, a tie between PSU and Wisconsin - both hungry to avenge last years losses. I believe the 'trap' game will be on the road with Arizona. Humid, time zone change, hostile environment...the Hawks need to have their A-game on.

This story is newsworthy because of who the man was... he was city leader, who cared deeply not just for CR but this community. I did not know him personally but met him through various individuals - a true gentleman who was passionate about people. You should have met him. Cedar Rapids has lost another 'good' individual.

Wegher is the real deal. Robinson put in a solid performance now Hampton has to prove himself all over. A good 'problem' to have - 3 very talented running backs. I can't help but watch Robinsons's running style - a flashback to OJ Simpson style of running. He seems to stay close to the ground and gains the yardage needed. No knock on Adam (comparassion to Simpson), this young man showed a lot of heart and determination last season. Iowa is lucky to have all three.

I remember trying to watch this game on TV. With the fog, Michigan fans were spared some punishing blows on some spectacular plays from Iowa. I believe this game gave the Hawks the new moniker of the 'Bullies of the Big Ten' - and they earned it! Worst defeat @ home in some time for the Wolverines. Great memories!
