"It was her job to communicate the facts."

It wasn't the facts the Remain campaign failed to get across that lost in 2016. It was the pack of lies that Boris and his ilk told that won it.

Well Nigel Farage would!

"A good percentage increase for us in South Gloucestershire."

No UKIP candidate this time, who got over 20% of the vote last time - if the Conservatives were doing well, this should have been gain. It wasn't.

The Mendip result is also really a Lib Dem gain. The Conservative councillor defected from them a couple of years ago.

That's a perfectly acceptable price for access to the biggest trading bloc in the world.

I never thought that for one second. But now it's clear that 1) we don't send anything like £350m to the EU anyway (there's a rebate and all the EU grants to deduct from that) and 2) it's clear that there will be a major hit to the economy when we leave which will cancel out any benefit gained from not paying to the EU.

I voted Leave and feel cheated because I was lied to by the Leave campaign. Where's the £350m a week for the NHS - the thing that decided my vote?
I want a second vote with the facts known. And I shall vote Remain if it happens.

The Conservative party will split. It is no longer possible to save it.
The EU hating wing has poisoned the party. Anyone who expresses support for remaining in the EU is vilified and called a traitor, even though one who acts in the interest of the country and its people is anything but.
Leave supporters are scared witless of another referendum because they know they would lose.

No, they don't. It's not like resigning from the Golf Club.
We have no idea what deal we will get 6 months away from leaving. I now realise that we actually had no idea of the facts when we voted in 2016. I believed what Johnson, Rees Mogg and Gove were saying when I voted Leave. I was deceived and I want to vote again. But this time, it would be for Remain, since all the emerging evidence suggests that leaving, especially with no deal, will be a catastrophe for our economy. Since the Conservatives flatly rule out another vote, I have left the party (after 30 years) and joined the Lib Dems.

"in my role as Secretary to the Birmingham Young Conservatives"

Didn't the other member want the job?
