As I watched the video, I did not know that there has been this many huge wars in history. Yes, I know there have always been battles around the world for territory and power, but could not imagine how many wars there have been especially in the Middle East. I have known that there were always huge empires in Europe, which would lead to wars. There have been a number of games that have come out about the conquest of Europe. Also I am surprised about the size of some battles. There was couple of huge battles that took up basically the whole screen in the video. These battles should have ended with so many casualties with troops and civilians. The idea of war has been with people for as long as we can remember, and this will not change.

Right now there are still fights for gay and lesbian marriages. I would guess that people would understand gay and lesbian marriages more than transgender. Transgender really have a hard perception put on them in society. It is just that the population of transgender is small and cases that deal with transgender rarely come up. In the article Mr. Devoureau’s executive director of the Transgender Legal Defense and Education Fund said “it was the first employment case in the country to take on the question of a transgender person’s sex.”
This case was not due to him not being a man, but his boss not liking the idea of a transgender working there. His birth certificate has recognized him as a man and so do many. Why do there have to be those that disagree? The strongest quote in the article is when Mr. Devoureau said “They were judging me for who I am, not for the job I was being asked to do, and that’s wrong.” People need to keep their judgments to themselves or even better do not judge at all. Those that judge needs to take a better perspective; they need to step out of their shoes and step into some else’s. They just need to look at their perspective and understand why.

I really enjoyed what the lifer had to say about how men should act to the opposite sex, or mostly just in general. There are common courtesies that people should always do. Even something like holding the door is really nice to see in society. It is not even a hard thing to do, but it is been seen less and less in society. He should make sacrifices for the one he loves and make her feel great.
The list that what a man is, is the opposite of is being portrayed in many movies and videos. A man should be a protector and a lover. This is most certainly true, and I cannot think of a woman that would disagree with this fact. A man should be able to take care of his partner physically and mentally. A lover should go hand and hand with protector. To take care of the partner, one would one to satisfy her. A man should be able to all the things a woman would want to do and should not be ashamed of it. The media portrays that men should never do some of these things and should be ashamed of it. Again media portrays a macho man who should be with his friends and the women should be stay at home. This is a perfect example of how much control the media has on the society. The media can control the belief of the majority of society.

It is very surprising to hear that the rich are getting tax breaks while the poor are still being taxed. How is this any fair? Well it is not, and will continue to bring down the economy. This helps only a small percentage of the population within a country and cannot bring up the economy. The lower-classes should be frustrated with this but they are not. A reason could be that they are shaped to believe that there are no tax cuts for them. They are helpless and have no idea how to gain tax breaks and overall have no say in society, though they are one of the biggest percentages. The voices herds in society are people from the top in power which are coming from the upper-class which have no experience how to handle the lower part of the classes. A general idea is that the poor are giving up and are not trying to get out of their situations to become failures. But is this really the case? Their actions are shaped by the society we live in.

Crowds during chaos bring a great concept that people need someone to lead them. As one person would start going one way, then the crowds would generally follow. This can be seen as a sheep’s herd and the crowd is the sheep. The few that are the herd are usually calm in the face of stress and uses logic to decide their decisions. This also can be seen in everyday life. A great example is what Sam Richards said one day in class when he was in the audience. He said that he was the first one to clap while standing up and then the whole crowd starts to follow. No one wants to do something that no one else is doing. It is just how people work. They always need someone to follow. This becomes less weird for people to act a certain way because they see other people around them doing the same. Even if people want to act a certain way (stand up while clapping), they do not because they do not want to be the only one or be singled out in the whole crowd.

This video is presented well because people can see how the country looked right before the tsunami hit. They can realize the actual extent of how much damage this earthquake and tsunami combined did. Everyone knows that tsunamis and earthquakes leave places and disasters, but in this video they can see the actual damage. They can see the water overflowing from the bridge destroying cars, houses, and pushing boats into places. This video brings new perspective to everyone because it shows the before and aftermath of the tsunami. Though it is weird how news broadcasting stations receive new broadcast footage even though time has passed. The videos should be released to the public early as possible, but they only deliver pictures first then videos. I believe a reason can be that the news stations would want people to keep tuning into their channels on T.V. for new updates. After major disasters, news channels on T.V. will always become for popular because the population has their interest in them.

People cannot change their social class that fast, even if they come into a rich fortune. These people need to be either taught or grown up within an upper class society. This can be clearly seen in when someone from the lower class wins the lottery; though most of the lottery tickets are sold to the lower class. But it is not just this spending problem; the lower class society does not know how to fit in with the higher class. Even though they have the house or car, people can clearly see they do not fit in. A middle class and especially and upper class would probably have no problem controlling their spending habits and invest in their money. They already fit in with the upper society so there is no change for their life style/friends. As can be seem through society, the upper class would probably not buy lottery tickets because they would know the odds of winning are very low.

Fear can have its ups and downs. Like in this article, fear can help one to continue on a path of righteousness. People would be scared of the possessions they could lose or the consequences of breaking laws. This fear can help improves a person’s life, and not get them into trouble. Though thinking about fear all the time will bring a life of unhappiness. They will be continuously scared of doing anything dangerous or would have to weigh out the consequences in every decision.. Like in the movie Along Came Polly, Ben Stiller continues to make safe and unnecessary risks. He had almost lost the girl he likes because of his harmless behaviors. Fear can be a great or a dangerous thing. The balance of fear along with its decision making is the key to keeping people safe and happy.
The fears in this article are very similar to many. It is true that men do not like talking about fear, but they do have as many fears as women. Many reading this article at the moment will not think about the first fear this lifer has wrote. College students certainly do not even think about death, but it true that death has occurred all around us. One biggest fear from college students biggest can be failure or not succeeding. We feel failure of not doing our best in college and getting the grades we want. This will soon make us suffer our future because we will not be getting the jobs that we could have gotten or wanted. The future is a mystery but a fear as well.

Their culture has become accustomed to polygamy because their social structure required it. The invisible force allows them to be comfortable with marrying more than one men or women. It aids everyone in the relationship especially the rule that the government set of having only one child because of over population. This can be call “free will” to be able to marry more than one person, but their free decisions are factored by the social structure they live in. The factors of the society are forcing them to act and think certain ways. Because of this, people can see the invisible strings are prevalent in our society as well. It is largely influenced because no one in various countries, like the United States, would ever think about having more than one spouse. People can truly see how their lives are affected by society which we have no control over. The marriage and relationship statuses in many different societies are very different. People will always be influenced by society and people cannot choose what society there are born in. They will just have to live and adapt to their society’s standards; they cannot change who they will be brought up to believe.

This article does show many different categories why people do not travel. I believe that the two biggest ones are money and fear. Fear was mainly explained about the downfall within a country that the media portrays, the fear of flying also plays a big factor in traveling. Driving to various places within the United States would save money and cut the factor of fear. They feel more comfortable with in their country. Also some can be ignorant and say the United States can give the same experience and culture as going to the actual country. There is no comparison between the real country and the little fake one in the United States.
I feel that the need to go the college and make money as fast as you can brings down the traveling outside of America. In the United States there are rare circumstances that people actually take a one year leave and go traveling. The need to survive is based on money and the competition has risen tremendously for various jobs. People need to boost their resumes more and more as years go by. There is no time to slack off in today’s society; individuals basically need out-compete others. Traveling would in a sense compromise their goal by taking time away. All these factors do bring down the human free choice that everyone believes that everyone has. The social systems that surround Americans lean them toward certain decisions, including traveling in this case.
