Somewhere The Sky Is Blue : An honest review of Buckley\'s in Belltown, Seattle.

You are incorrect about the acceptable identification required in Washington State. Please refer to: WAC 314-11-025, What are the forms of acceptable identification? http://apps.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=314-... Also refer to the Washington State Liquor Control Board: http://liq.wa.gov/licensing/current-licensee-faqs and see that US Military ID is listed. Furthermore, what did my passport prove, considering it is in my maiden name? The problem was not mine at all. I was able to purchase and consume alcohol everywhere else we went over the weekend using my United States Uniformed Services Card, so therefore the kindhearted bouncer at Buckley's is the issue. Have a nice day! :-)

Thanks so much for the reply Tasneem! Isn't it odd also how people who have never experienced it themselves easily overlook it when it happens to others? That's why I wrote this, because I don't think a lot of people really understand how it feels! My husband was irate afterwards. I don't think he had ever seen it happen to me in person before.

SpouseBUZZ.com : We're in This Together

I can understand this post very well! Dave signed a 10 year AD contract and we have 8 years left of it, so from now on everything impacts us both. Pilots have a lot of choices to make over time, and they definitely impact what their options are in the future, so we discuss this stuff regularly to make sure we're on the same page. It probably doesn't help that I was already an aviation history buff before we met ;-) We like airplanes just the same. We are starting to dislike Air Mobility Command though...

SpouseBUZZ.com : From the Mailbag: The Politics of Friends

My husband is an Air Force officer and my best friend's husband is an Army Specialist. I don't choose my friends because of what their husband does, or what their rank is. I just like to be around friendly open hearted people who I can identify with at some level :-)

SpouseBUZZ.com : I Don't Want to Impose...

Great post! I seem to impose on my friends if I have to go somewhere important and can't take public transit, and that happened twice while Dave was deployed. Fortunately it was for a good cause (buying the wedding dress) but I still felt a little guilty for some reason.

SpouseBUZZ.com : DoD Ditches All Visible SSNs From IDs

I just got married, and my ID card is one of the new ones without my husband's full SSN. I like the new feature, however everyone still asks for the SSN instead of the benefits ID number. Change is always a work in progress...

SpouseBUZZ.com : So Long Visitor Passes and DoD Car Decals

While the Air Force doesn't require decals, we still have a 100% ID check at the gate. I wish the Army would catch up and stop making things more difficult for joint bases. Air Force families who have not had a decal in years are forced to get one.

I used to call it Cost Plus World Market too!!! I have no idea when it changed formal names, lol. I would really love to live in a not-so military-heavy area. There are a few islands out here we would move to, if they weren't so expensive, and if the commute was realistic for Dave! "Hey let's go strand ourselves on this gorgeous island!" "Okay honey!" :-) I was actually really surprised to see a wine and beer section at World Market!

I'm happy to be here! Just replied to your email actually :-) I think what I am most annoyed with are those who wear their ACU's after work, for no good reason. We watched one of our neighbors come home, probably from dinner, because he had his wife and kid with him in his truck. He was still in ACU's and then he came back outside after like 10 minutes still in ACU's, and drove off, and then returned 20 minutes later with Safeway shopping bags....... Really? Dave was like, "He couldn't... change??? He was just at home for crying out loud!" Yeah, haha... Those are the people we don't understand!

Yeah I know! Dave is like, "Why would you even want to wear it when you can put on something comfortable?" Haha! We will even use a discount at Lowe's, but usually only if we are buying something over $20.
