Commentary Magazine : Hispanics and the Zimmerman Narrative

Apparently Zimmerman is part black from his Peruvian side of the family, another irony in all this.

Commentary Magazine : Many Claiming the Mantle of Reagan Have Turned on Reagan's Vision

No one should need apologize for wanting the country to have control over its immigration. Or for not wanting the whole country to go the way of California. I doubt Reagan would be thrilled with California today. He certainly wouldn't be in office.

It's too bad the Democrats are anti-Israel, otherwise Wehner would be completely at home with them. I doubt Reagan would be thrilled about a nation of ill-educated, unassimilated unskilled laborers and welfare recipients, but, sure, whatever, Mr. Wehner. Enjoy life in the Republican rump.

Commentary Magazine : A Poor Argument Against Syria Intervention

"That is a deeply amoral argument" Oh, give me a break, Mr. Boot. How many wars does this country have to involve itself in to satisfy you? It's worked out great in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya, hasn't it. For people like you, nothing succeeds like failure.

Commentary Magazine : Border Surge Puts Gang's Critics to the Test

To me Tobin stands for unrestricted illegal immigration, wars overseas and a surveillance state. I can honestly say that if the Tobins are our only alternative I'd just as soon let the Democrats run the show. I suppose for Tobin the Democrats aren't committed to getting enough American killed in Middle Eastern wars.

Commentary Magazine : Rubio, Ryan and the Excommunication Impulse

At the moment I'd sooner vote for Christie than Rubio. At least Christie insults me to my face, rather than sneak around my back, like Rubio. Of course the GOP hasn't had a good presidential candidate since 1984, so why expect anything different in 2016?

It was the considered judgment of our officials to engage in their IRS shenanigans. It was their considered judgement to obfuscate Benghazi. It was their considered judgment that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq (or at least that's what they told us). Admirable bunch there. Give me the high school dropouts, or maybe Buckley's people randomly selected from the phone book.

"Snowden, a high school dropout with limited knowledge and experience beyond the world of computing, prefers to substitute his own judgment about what the United States government should be doing for the considered judgment of our elected leaders and national-security professionals." Yeah, because Obama, Holder, Clinton, they have had such great judgment. Just trust the government, don't ask questions. Love the high school dropout shot. So, Boot, would your opinion of his action be different if he were an Ivy League grad?

What a wuss Tobin is. The man had an affair, deal with it. Are we going to oust every congressman who has an affair now? Get busy then! Meanwhile, the Democrats want to return Hillary and her husband, a sexual sociopath plausibly accused of rape, to the White House. Get a grip, Tobin. Sanford is nothing.

Tobin's always saying next time we make the stand! Then when that next time he collapses. What's left now is for him to say how high he wants the GOP to raise taxes. All it takes to make him cry is an adverse poll.

Tobin's columns are such predictable garbage. He's always urging the GOP on to the next fight, than crumbling. Left unsaid is how high he thinks taxed ought to go now. Obama's fantastic popularity amounts to 51% approval in three polls and a 55% in the Bloomberg. This is what the GOP must cave into, has no chance of resisting? When the GOP votes to increase taxes, they are dead to their constituency. They might just get by with having allowed them to go up (when there was nothing they could really do to prevent it). But voting to increase them is too much,
