/Film : Terminator Salvation: Arnold Schwarzenegger Appearance Confirmed? Harvester Concept Art

I'm sick of the flaming over ratings between posters here. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and until the movie comes out and we see it, no one can really say if PG-13 is a bad move or not. I'm a fan of the series, and really enjoyed the first two. Yes, they were "soft - R" for their time, but that doesn't mean that I want a modern-made sequel to be set to those standards. If our collective sensitivity to on-screen profanity, violence and sex has been lowered, then I want more of it to give the modern version the same "soft-R" rating. I feel it's warranted. In the very beginning of T1 Arnie puts his hand through a guy's chest and rips his heart out. Even by today's standards I don't think that would be PG-13. I like how Zach Snyder's Watchmen was discussed for having done just that. He took material that was considered very edgy and morally challenging for the time (1980s), and he upped the violence, sex, and gore to try and keep it edgy and limit-pushing for modern audiences.

/Film : See Dan Fogler's Best Sam Kinison

Wow! I liked fogler in the few things I've seen him in, but never realized he was capable of nailing Kinison like that. I'll definitely keep my eyes on this one.

I really wanted to like it, I liked the first one a lot, but I just felt like this trailer wasn't nearly as funny as it should have been. I'll likely still watch it based on these two trailers alone, but my expectations have been lowered.

/Film : What's in the box?

Sorry. You are correct. It'd been ages since I played them. After sifting through comments here a few things are more apparent to me though: 1. Tim Smit, former co-creator of the Mythbuster's Phonebook mail-in video, is clearly involved. Or someone has inserted both images of the red 'what'sinthebox' box into the Mythbuster's video on Youtube, as well as him name into the whatsinthebox.nl production credits. 2. The fast white letters: read box fast 3. What the box says: Lyrics to Tenacious D - The Final Showdown (Odd. A playful joke by the creators?) 4. I really need to watch more TED. 5. I liked Abrams' lecture. I'm curious if Tim Smit had anything to do with the clip Abrams shows of a plane crash-landing on an SUV and talks about these guys making these low-budget, yet amazing, effects? 6. What the meaning of the "anti" box is, I still have no clue. For now I'll go with that hypercube theory. 7. What any of these things mean when put together? Still no clue.

I just creamed my pants. I loved Cloverfield and loved HL1,2,2.1,2.2 and soon 2.3. Plus, they are making Portal 2. Which if you played the first one, *SPOILER* (you wind up making it out of the complex underground Black Mesa facility and up to the rather mundane surface.) *END SPOILER* I'm really hoping that this is either a promo for HL 2.3 / Portal 2, or (crosses fingers) JJ Abrams and Valve decided to secretly make "Black Mesa" the movie.

/Film : Mission: Impossible 4 Being Prepped?

I say go with Todd Solondz. Really though, 1 was great, 2 I thought single-handedly had killed the franchise, and then 3 comes and pulled it back from the brink. I'm ready for a 4th. Just get it back to a thinking-man's action movie. That's what I remember all the original stories as being, and what I appreciated about the 1st one.

I may go so far as to say best tagline ever. Never thought I would, but loved the 1st one. When I heard they were making a second I was immediately upset. Then I saw the first trailer for it and thought, wow, it might actually be BETTER than the first one. Looking forward to it.

/Film : Sorority Row Movie Trailer

"Jaws of Life", has she wrecked lots of cars like most child stars? I love how horror villains are kung-fu masters when comes to their favorite weapon of choice. I challenge any of you to go and and twirl a four-armed tire-iron around a finger (keep in mind this one doesn't have sockets on all four sides, but for some reason a flat blade on one of them). Then try swinging it around and feel how awkwardly balanced it would be as a weapon, especially with the lightest (blade) part pointing away from you. You'll be lucky not to conk yourself in the head with one of the arms sticking out to the side. Then throw it like a ninja-star at a victim that's 15 feet away and see if you hit them with the blade part (in the head). If somehow you succeed at these then maybe you've just found your new direction in life. I actually think that despite its many flaws the movie would be very marketable and at least turn a profit, if it weren't for the horribly cliched Scream-cloaks. (I mean, 'Black Hooded Graduation Gowns') Definitely a single digit box-office opening weekend.

No, sir. I don't like it. It replaces a rather gender neutral "sci-fi", with an, IMO, more effeminate looking "Syfy". Especially with the logo up top there, the font choice is very soft and curvy, as if "Syfy" was the sci-fi section of the Lifetime channel. Although, if the content remains the same then I'm sure that over time it won't matter.

Finally. There's not many books that I pass on to my wife after I read them, but TTW was one of them. I like the comment about it being a 'gateway-story' for non-sci-fi enthusiasts. When I first mentioned to her that they're making it into a movie and that it was adapted by the same guy that did The Notebook she was very excited to see it. I'd bet that by this point that she's forgotten all about it. Maybe I'll wait until it's released and just surprise her at the theater with it.
