Equestria Daily : Brony Documentary - Discussion Post

All in all I thought it was well done. I especially loved the animations that were done (a pony version of John de Lancie = Win). There were some touching moments too such as Tara Strong reaching out to the kid who was undergoing treatment from an illness and John de Lancie who helped convinced that one father the both the show and the fandom isn't all bad. The footage from the various cons made me smile at seeing the fandom coming together and having fun and interacting with the cast and crew from the show. I'll never ceased to be amazed on how great fan creations can be whether it's music, art, or fiction.

As someone who lives in Atlanta, I'm gutted about Wintermoon being cancelled. Hopefully someone will give another try in regards to bringing a con here.

Equestria Daily : Discussion: Your Pony Story

A little while after the show started airing, a friend of mine told me "You have got to watch this new My Little Pony show! It's so good!" My reaction was "My Little Pony? That franchise that's aimed towards young girls? Uh, no thanks!" A little while later, people were still telling me how good the new show was. I was really surprised to see that it was attracting people in their 20's and 30's, so one day I decided "If everyone says this new show is so good, I'll watch a few episodes and see what everyone is talking about." So I sat down and started watching it, and after the first two episodes my thought was "Hmm, maybe this isn't too bad.". After the third episode, my thought was "Wow, this is actually a good show. Am I really getting into this?" and after the fifth episode my thought was "Wow, this show is really good! Now I see why everyone likes it so much." It was at that point where I officially became a fan. Around that time, I noticed that Lauren Faust was the one who had a hand in creating the show. "Wait, Lauren Faust? The same person who worked on The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends? So that's why this show is so good!", I thought to myself. I was also surprised to see that Tara Strong, whose voice work I'm very familiar with considering she played characters in many other cartoons that I grew up with also played a role in Friendship is magic. I also started to analyze why Friendship is magic was so good. It was a breath of fresh air in the world of today's animation. The characters were just so well done and there were times that I myself could completely relate to one of them. The show had things that appealed to both kids and adults. The animation and voice work were just fantastic. Eventually I started discovering stuff that the fandom started creating like music, artwork, fan animation, fanfics, etc. What I saw blew me away considering some of stuff made was really good. But there was more, Hasbro was actually embracing the fandom and allowing the show be exposed through youtube by not being the copyright police and taking down episodes, something that a company rarely does. Even more, the cast and crew giving subtle nods to the fandom throughout the show leading up to the Derpy scene in The Last Roundup really surprised me considering it's rare that a fandom is acknowledged in a show itself. I'm really excited about Season 3 starting soon and I just found out that a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic convention is coming to my city in a few months, so I can't wait for that!

It has a lot to do with this issue. Look at the Civil Rights section of the Agenda. There's a section in there about LGBT community.

I think the government should should pass a law called The Same Sex Rights Act which would do the following: 1. Repeal the Defense of Marriage Act 2. Repeal Don't Ask Don't Tell 3. Grant civil unions for all same sex couples nationally 4. Prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation 5. Allow same sex couples to adapt children

Change.gov : Join the Discussion: Former Sen. Daschle responds on health care | Change.gov: The Obama-Biden Trans

Here's what I think the US needs to do to reform health care: 1. Pass H.R. 676 and establish a universal health care system 2. Combine Medicare, Medicaid, SCHIP, etc into the new National system 3. Create a National Healthcare Tax that has 1 cent per every dollar spent go into it to help fund the system (don't forget, we pay a Medicare tax out of our paychecks for those who oppose this) 4. People who sign up for the new national plan will receive an ID card with a unique record number much like the cards you get when you sign up for private insurance. 5. Require that all clinics and hospitals accept this ID card as well as their own cards (i.e. Kaiser Permanente both their ID cards and the new national ID cards). This would help reduce the long line problem that is feared. For those who oppose this idea. The government will not be running your hospitals and clinics. All the government will be doing is help pay for health care costs. If you have private insurance or insurance through your employer, you'll be able to keep it.
