Flashfresh - The Pirate. : AT 8 - Day 2 Qualifiers: HUN Reloaded v TuskerBastards

It was a good fight to watch. I had wondered about moving target switch away from the Scimi, but it's hard to get much of a sense of scale and engagement from all the way across the galaxy. It's easy for the rest of us to armchair general from the sidelines - Let me be the first to say, Well Done, and hopefully it will only get better. P.S. Maybe you could have started off with a ransom. 3... 2... 1... "Hey, we'll all fly out of bounds for 40 billion and some beefcake" P.P.S. Your initial fleet line up mentions a Scimitar on your side.... I thought Mr. Frog was in a Guardian"

Life in Low Sec : Roll Those Dice, Baby!

Understood. If you have Amarr ship pilots, consider having the lower sp pilots run energy transfers so the Abaddon's can just use excessive heat sinks! For the ops split, we've noticed that people tend to want larger groups [up to about 10] so that the Alliance gets a smaller share. :)

Out of curiosity: Do you have standard fits you suggest for POS ops or do you all just fly whatever the piratey-heck you happen to have the hangar when the op goes live? We have a similar payout arrangement for our wormhole operations, with one exception, the Alliance is a default participant of all ops. So all profits are split on a participant + 1 basis. This was initially met with a little opposition, but in fact over time has actually increased participation. Does the Alliance take a cut of your actions as well? I had another question, I am quite sure, but I think hormones are making cognitive thought difficult.

A Mule In EvE : Once you go +5...Cloaking issues

Though I suppose it would be too much to expect that cloaking tech might be completely different in a universe 23,000 years later and several scientific orders of magnitude different. Although it is also suspect that we can instantly communicate with pilots 70 jumps away, but have trouble accepting a contract in the next region [1 jump away]. I agree that cloaks can be annoying and an inordinate amount of people use them, but I'm also just as scared of the solutions. We spend a lot of time wondering if Mr Cloak-n-Shoot is still in our wormhole or has logged or even flown on out, but also accept that as a part of doing business there. I don't have enough of a solution to fix it, but it is also something we've learned to live with as a part of EVE.

Congratulations on your new 'treiver. They are a nice boost from cruiser mining, if for nothing else, the longer cycle time.

Sweet Little Bad Girl : Scar

It's... been so.... long out here. I've nearly forgotten what a station looks like inside. The last time out into know space, I actually had to ask for a refresher course on the market interface! Has it really been that long? I can identify with the beauty of some of the deeper rabbit holes. We've been down some that nearly make you weep with the beauty of them. A blue dwarf with thin red-orange-black gas toroid comes mind. There have been multiple instances of, "Where's Kename? Oh, taking pictures again. Someone tractor her wreck back."

The Wandering Druid of Tranquility : So, we have Dust 514....a console game

Personally, I'm excited to be able to fly spaceships. I'm so glad that CCP is supporting spaceships. I bet they'll even have "Flying in Space" [FiS] Soon™ http://eve.finkeworld.com/2009/08/19/upcoming-eve...

A Mule In EvE : T2 Sniping cruisers...some questions

EVEHQ can temporarily set all your skills to level 5. Just be sure to return them to normal later or you'll think you are better than you should be. Just click on the pilot options/setting at the top of the fitting window and the window that opens will let you click a button for level 5's.

Life in Low Sec : Only Boring Pilots Get Bored

My Momma always told me, only people without imagination are bored. Being bored amounts to being unable to imagine a situation you'd rather be in and taking action on that. So you want to be a PVP pilot - get out there are start killing people. You'd rather be an industrial titan - start manufacturing and mining. Ninja salvager - just start scanning and swipe. Whatever it is, you are only limited by your own ability to imagine doing something else. Who knows, something else maybe a long, luxurious bubble bath with lots of candles and the sound of your husband trying to corral the kids for school in the morning [he he he].

The Wandering Druid of Tranquility : "...We're rascals, scoundrels, villans, and knaves,..."

Life in Low Sec : Discussion #3: Amusing Blunders

Off the top of my head... A) Clicking "Yes" to after accidentally selecting the option to destroy my jump clone. [The option to jump and destroy are way, way to close together.] II) Replacing Meta 6+ ship modules with their T2 counterparts w/o actually noticing that the new ones were worse. 3) Running max run ship BPCs in invention runs without decryptors [you only get 1 run T2 ships w/o decryptors] (even worse, I've actually run at least one invention job with a max run bpc AND a decryptor that wasn't for extra runs!) w) 42 Million drones abandoned in space. iii) Mining feverishly for several hours into a jetcan and then switching ships to haul and getting distracted by all the pretty lights in the station and absolutely forgetting the cans. [Kudos to the corp. mate who scanned them down (via my abandoned drones)]. Eleventy-one) Buying a skill I already have trained. To level V. 18 jumps away. Twice. If anyone seems to be missing something stupid to have done, I have spares.

Life in Low Sec : Discussion #2: The Corp Drama Bomb

I've been party to a couple of corporate dramas that I still hesitate to bring up. In spite of how BIG EvE is, it seems to shrink to the size of whatever situation you are in. There were probably signs that things were going south long before anything actually blew up, but people generally want to see the best in people. In the end it was a combination of issues including but not limited to personal expectations not being met by leadership and the alliance at large, interpersonal differences and worst of all, a sordid affair that was almost completely unconnected to the actual events inside EvE. He said, she said, 'nuf said. When I wrote http://eve.finkeworld.com/2008/10/17/as-evening-f...I was dealing with a lot of these issues, but wasn't ready to put them to print. There aren't a lot of options for dealing with them. And there is always something controversial that should be dealt with but is often ignored [and sometimes to great benefit to all].
