elephant journal: Yoga, Sustainability, Politics, Spirituality. : The Yoga of Mending a Broken Heart—Fast.

I first read this article in 2009, when I was going through a totally horrid breakup/ existential crisis. Although the breakup (and crisis) carried on for months afterward, I kept returning to this article and your words. In my (very) humble opinion, this is one of the greatest articles on Elephant. I send this article to all of my friends who go through breakups (which happens very often, as we're all in our 20's). I appreciate your advice, as well as your humor, *so* much. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I'll have to politely disagree with you too. I think Norah Jones is fabulous and inspiring, and her music is very beautiful. Different strokes!

elephant journal: Yoga, Sustainability, Politics, Spirituality. : Fixing a child's cleft lip? Slavoj Zizek says: "Pointless."

I don't mean to be antagonistic here, but I love Zizek and the "First as Tragedy..." speech (and book... which I encourage everyone to read). I totally understand what you guys are saying about the organic v. GMO apples, or TOMS, or the cleft lip surgery... but I think his message underlying those critical examples is too important to push away. We need to be more critical of the cultural capitalist system in the USA (and world wide) and of people or companies or institutions who are, like Zizek (and Wilde) said, repairing with the right hand, what they do with the left hand...
