Harmonix did do a poll recently to see what BAND: Rock Band games people would be interested in. Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd and Queen topped the list when voting closed. Both The Beatles and Green Day were free of influencing artists. It's just a Guitar Hero thing to include other artists' tracks on the disc (See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fry-oxfDM8I). I think it's important for band-specific titles to include ONLY that band's songs.

I think Rock Band 3 is the game I'm most excited about. I have some guitar skills and I'm really hoping the Pro mode will be able to push me in to actually playing more properly. You have a valid point about the concept of a "greatest of" album, but I think it's easier for me to point to a BAND: Rock Band game and know whether I'll like a majority of tracks on it than risk it on a compilation disc.

I've noticed the PSP revivals, but I've never been 100% certain why they don't 'stick'. There's something dated about the gameplay that's broken in a modern context. I hope Swarm can fix it. And yes, Dust and Project Dust are two very different games. Something tells me that the XBLA will light up and roll out the red carpet for Elysian Tail when it releases though.
