HGTV Dream Home : Did Super Fan Say Yummy?

In the Spring it can get quite windy in NM. I would think some type of wind/sun fabric could be used around the outside. I also can't imagine sitting on either patio without some type of sun protection screening overhead. I also thought about a catchment system, not for just the rain/snow, but also water that is use in the house. I forget what the name it for it but, it saves water from sinks, showers/tubs and maybe laundry. Here in NM water conservation is very import.

I would like on the shore line of Lake Michigan Ont the east side it. I would place it either Traverse City area or further down near Grand Rapids.

I agree about a TV in the Great Room, aka Family room. Where are the kids to pay video games ? Or an exercise area? Also, I would rather a Fireplace in the Great Room rather then in the Entry area. Who is really going to sit there? I would of rather made the Media area a Living Room, so your guests have a place to sit and talk, then the Dining area is across from it. Plus, IMHO, the Media Room is to small...it only seats 4! I guess I am going to redo some areas when I win it.......

It might be warm during the day, but the nights become quickly. Plus NM does have a Spring ad Fall that are cooler. Summers can get into the 90's. Most of the time you do not need the heat on.

FYI....When I came here to check it out before I moved here, it did not take long to fall in love with this area. In ABQ you get up to go to work and there are mountains to see the sun come over them and then look thought out the day to see how it changes colors. Sunsets are the best here. If you are the outdoor type, it does not take long to drive somewhere for hiking. New Mexico slogan is: The Land of Enchantment, but locals call it The Land of Entrapment...., the beauty of this State just takes you over.....

San Pedro Overlook is on the Turquoise Trail or Hwy 14. I moved here about a year ago and have driven on it. It is south of Santa Fe about an hour's drive. Albuquerque (or ABQ) is about an 40 minutes drive. The town Madrid is about 25 minutes drive. FYI: Madrid here is pronounced MAD-RID not like the city in Spain. If you want watch a movie, Wild Hogs was film mostly in NM and in Madrid. If you ski there is Sandia Peak on the east side, and the Tramway is located on the west side. No, ABQ does not have transportation from there. So, you will have to drive around the Sandias to go to ABQ. The east side does get snow where as ABQ usually gets a dusting. I'm guessing that you could cross country around there also. ABQ is reasonably price city and it has not suffered as hard of an economic downturn as other places have.

For those who wonder about affording 2010 Dream house go to NM Business Weekly and search an article about it or you can try www.bizjournals.com/albuquerque/stories/2009/05/1... or albuquerque.bizjournals.com/albuquerqu. Also It is not located in Sandia Park,; that is located on the west side of the Sandias. This home is located on the east side of the mountains. It is a good article to read. Also here is the site for where it is located: www.sanpedrocreek-overlook.com/hgtv_dream_home. If you goggle map search it will take you to San Pedro Overlook.

Change.gov : Join the Discussion: Former Sen. Daschle responds on health care | Change.gov: The Obama-Biden Trans

I am on Medicare because of a Disability. Luckily in the past I had no problems with my Doctors accepting it along with my supplement insurance. But now I have move to another state and am having a hard time finding a GOOD Doctor who will accept Medicare. The best solution for that is to make it illegal for any doctor/ hospital to refuse you for having Medicare insurance. Another problem I did not realize until I moved, is that most States do not require Dental Coverage with Medicare. So, if you have an impacted tooth that is causing pain and infection; well to bad you have to pay for the full costs. Dental health has been related as a cause to other physical problems like heart disease. All states should be required to have dental coverage. Also of matter of fact: why is each state allowed to decide want its citizens have for Medicare when it is a Federal program? Why is it not run like the Veterans health program? Then there is Part D…What a mess of a program, I am not better off now then I was before it was enacted. Plus, why does the same drug cost differently depending on the insurance you sign up for? Why are insurances companies allowed to decided what medications (Formularies) to pay for? Then there is the “Doughnut Hole”; I imagine that most people end up in the “Hole”. It also usually happens at the end of the year , when there are heating and holiday bills to paid for. I think that Medicare should be run like the Veterans Health Program is run and allow everyone, no matter where you live have the same type of insurance coverage and is accepted anywhere and by any Doctor.
