Next they should request humane treatment of veal calves (or ideally, get rid of "veal" entirely. It's nothing more than the meat of malnourished, anemic calves, usually confined such that they can barely move so they don't use up the calories being force fed to them to make them fat!)

OK, off my soapbox - good for you Costco for making an effort in the fight to treat animals humanely.

If the cat climbed a fence, ok - I'm sure it can climb things that people can't - but if it "pushed in through some gap in the fence", they might want to find that & block it off before somebody decides they'll fit through there too.

Apparently attention to detail has failed also: "Officers then found Krohn's body in the alley" (Krohn being identified earlier in the story as a Hoquiam PD Sgt.)

I was recently in Talkeetna & saw some a flyer about a cat as mayor but I figured it was just a joke. My memory of the flyer isn't purrfect but I'm fairly sure I remember it saying that Stubbs had recently passed away & there was another cat that had taken his position. I wonder how old this story's info really is ...

I believe the article says "Hanson-Fleming says he conducted an extensive search to find the dog. That included posting pictures on Craigslist and filing lost animal reports with Multnomah County Animal Services."
Personally I question the comment ""If she'd have gone door-to-door, she would have come to our house," Hanson-Fleming told the paper" - seriously, in this day & age of so many psycho-lunatics, who goes door to door for any reason?
I wonder how much time passed between the dog getting loose & her finding it.
