Hey Doc do you think Swanklin has taken on the DDS alias? He seemed to disappear about the same time DDS came on the scene.

Let's be fair Doc. There are more than a few beached whales wearing their speedo's and various swim trunks who could stand to be thrown back too!

Swanky- You asked- "what is it you imagine happens to greyhounds who aren't fast or grow old"" I answered-" they are killed and dumped under a bridge" You agreed- "they kill tens of thousands at adulthood when they are no longer profitable" I WIN! (to coin a favorite phrase of yours) What inquiring minds still want to know.......Does that work for you? I don't think it smug, sanctimonius or snarky to be concerned by stories of animal cruelty or torture. If you have not done so already, click the link that cyberdag provided and read the associated story. The animal cruelty found at Ebro is horrendous, and I am really wondering why you seem to be taking the stance that you have on this.?????

Swanklin, I thought the NTSB was still investigating the Nov 23 crash. How is it you have already concluded it was pilot error? "The NTSB will analyze the data and plans to publish a preliminary report in the next five to ten days. Eltcher wouldn’t comment on any possible causes of the crash. “Right now we’re only gathering the facts, we’re not even speculating yet,” he said.

Swank- What Hart said was "most in the entertainment field are leftists" and "Clearly, celebrities live by a different set of rules than the rest of us and they inhabit a world of their own delusions. This makes them perfect liberals." What Hart said is wrong on both counts. There are probably as many "liberal" as there are "conservative" people in the entertainment industry. They have all devoted time and money to worthy charitable causes and should be commended, not bashed. As far as Conservatives being more "generous" with time and money than liberals, studies have shown this to be true, however they are including political as well as charitable contributions in their statistics. Everyone knows the conservatives can far outspend the liberals in PAC money to influence their special interest political causes.

While I agree with what is said about Charlie Sheen, Hart is being unfair to lump all "liberal" celebrities in the same class. Brad Pitt has devoted hours and money to post Katrina efforts, Sean Penn has been working tirelessly in Haiti, George Clooney in Dafur just to name a few. They have done far more than just lend their name to a cause, giving generously of both their time and money. Can Hart say the same for himself?

Glad to see they are trying again, but since there were 189 lodging companies in the original plan it does not seem that TDC did anything about the "numberous lodging companies" that did not follow the guidelines and were trying to beat the system. Guess they have no problem letting these companies participate in the new program.

If nobody is using them and they are set up in prime space all day I see nothing wrong with moving them. It is kind of like the pool chair game when someone puts a towel out on a chair by the pool and then goes to the beach all day, it is just selfish.

The city has never clarified this issue. Best I can tell, EG owns the chairs but not the ground they are sitting on. So, it seems you may have to bring your own beach chair, but you should be able to move the EG chairs and take the prime spot for yourself. It is now city owned land paid for with your taxes.

Funny that TDC was still claiming all cards had been reserved as late as Sept 23 when they had already decided to cancel the program on Sept 18. Looks like they are going to try again even though TDC director Mark Bellinger said he would never have another thing to do with debit cards.

Numbers still do not add up. If the TDC started the first program on Sept 17 and cancelled it by eve of the 18th then they are saying 578 people came to the visitors center in 16 hours to claim cards. Thats about 1 card every 1min 40 sec for 2 days non stop. Did anybody see that kind of crowd at the Visitors Center that weekend? And remember, that was right in the middle of Seafood Fest. How did TDC have that many staff on hand at the Visitors Center to help so many people?
