Such meaningful words - a testament to the magical way in which paths crisscross in unexpected ways. This book is most certainly one I would recommend to you, particularly as a way to reinforce the healing of the heart. Best of luck on Tuesday.

The Uncustomary Book Review : The Go-Giver

What encouraging words! And coming from such a wonderful writer, they mean all the more! Thank you, John. Yes, the concluding note... Reading The Go-Giver felt like stepping under a mountainous cascade of illumination. It's the sort of experience that reaffirms one's deepest suspicions of what life is 'supposed' to be like, and offers the reader permission to believe what sometimes feels like fairytale. I am an optimist, a visionary and a doer. I know that some people don't like that. Your book reminded me that there are also people who support the change agents walking inconspicuously along the side of the road, working within to manifest limitlessness in this world. And as for the other quotes, here they are: "You get what you expect." (p.15) "A bad restaurant...tries to give just enough food and service, both in quantity and quality, to justify the money it takes from the customer. A good restaurant strives to give the most quantity and quality for the money it takes...But a great restaurant...strives to defy imagination! Its goal is to provide a higher quality of food service than any amount of money could possibly pay for." (p.28) "Your true worth is determined by how much more you give in value than you take in payment." (p.29) "Your compensation is directly proportional to how many lives you touch." (p.45) "...you get to determine your level of compensation - it's under your control. If you want more success, find a way to serve more people. It's that simple...it also means there are no limitations on what you can earn, because you can always find more people to serve." (p.46) "...I saw that my old belief system was only getting in the way. It wasn't serving. So I decided to change it." (p.48) "...in any business - you also need to know how to develop a network. Do you know what I mean by 'network'?...I don't necessarily mean your customers or clients. I mean a network of people who know you, like you and trust you. They might never buy a thing from you, but they've always got you in the back of their minds...They're the people who are personally investing in seeing you succeed...and of course, that's because you're the same way about them. ..you want to know what makes that kind of network happen...?...Stop keeping score." (p.65-6) "If you place the other person's interests first, your interests will always be taken care of. Always. Some people call it enlightened self-interest. Watch out for what other people need, with the faith that when you do, you'll get what you need." (p.68)

The Neave Online Publication : Love VS Bounds: Can the Modern Male Court?

It's reassuring to know that anyone, be it a man or a woman, still remembers how to peel him or herself away from technology long enough to awaken to the physical reality passing them by, all too often unnoticed. Yes, most women would interpret such perceptiveness as threatening, but that doesn't mean that women are right. Sometimes, it takes the gentle persistence of a man falling in love to help the woman get on the same page. After that, it's all about learning how to read at the same pace.

The Neave Online Publication : Is There Life After the 'Friend Zone'?

Talking about other guys she's dating or interested in could be her way of revealing herself to you as a sexual being without actually taking the risk of directly telling you she wants to be a sexual being with you. Being in the 'friend zone' gives you access to everything a woman is hiding from 'other guys'. Are you seriously saying you don't know how to work with that?! Dude!

The Neave Online Publication : Birth Of An Icon- Jim Fitzpatrick Interview

"I published the exact facts of his death in Hibernia magazine, which I thought would have huge repercussions but there wasn’t a peep." I can't tell you how many times I've expected something I've put out there in the world to make waves, only to find that it didn't even manage a ripple of a reaction. Or did it? As artists, or even putting it more broadly, as people who want to make thought-provoking waves, how do we know if we've been successful? Is the measure of an inspiring article the number of comments it generates or the quantity of twits it stimulates? What is it about a message that makes us so convinced that it will 'have huge repercussions'? What is it about the messenger that creates the desire to want to ride the wave?

The Neave Online Publication : Monday Musings

I know a few geniuses and one thing they have in common is that they're definitely not grounded - totally the opposite actually, at least where their genius is concerned. I know what you know about the lack of authenticity associated with the rise to fame. There comes a point in everyone's lives when they have to choose - do you compromise yourself in the name of material success and agree to slowly but surely loose yourself in the process, or take the authentic road and risk not getting very high on the ladder. It's not an easy choice...until you realize what you really have to lose...

"however, it’s socially unacceptable to get in people’s faces and insist that “I’m fucking awesome." No matter what country I'm living in at the moment, selling yourself always seems to be unacceptable to various degrees - even in America, the land of the free, where money magically grows on trees and anyone with an idea and the will to work at it can become a millionaire. I saw a trailer for a movie yesterday about the American school system - it said that even though American kids place something like 26 out of 30 in the world ranking of math skills, they rank number one in confidence. I'm thinking we have to check Wikipedia's definitions of confidence vs. ignorance before commenting on that any further, but in any case, at least there's still a chance that confidence (aka. self-marketing) still exists here. In the end, where does being socially acceptable get you? By the way, I'm fucking awesome!

"I started this book idea as an experiment." Why not "I started this book idea." ? I'm not trying to pick on you here. I'm just curious about the nature of the writer's psyche. It's not uncommon for me to take a noncommital stance when talking about my writing, or about my role as a writer. "So what do you do?" "...oh, well, for now...I'm sort of writing...".
The Neave Online Publication : Postcard from Ibiza: Part 2 - Green Light District

What rejection? Funny thing is I don't remember... Letting things 'just be' is one of the most difficult things to do. So much mental chatter and outside distraction can tempt even the best of us to slip in a 'friendly suggestion' or make an internal judgment that we think no one can see written all over our face. The only connection that can bring clarity is the one you cultivate with yourself. Connection to anything and everything external to the deepest parts of who you are will mislead and misguide every time...unless, of course, they align with your truth. But then again, how can you know what your truth is unless you've connected to it first...?
