Video Game News & Reviews - Kombo.com : FIFA Won\\'t Support Move, Kinect, or 3D in the Near Future

I'm really glad that they are seeming to focus on innovations that will hopefully to help further the game and gameplay, instead of just tacking on crap motion controls. FIFA 10 and FIFA World Cup are great games, and I'm very much looking forward to FIFA 11.

Video Game News & Reviews - Kombo.com : E3 2010: Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II Trailer Reveals Starkiller\\'s New Story

I agree in thinking that his return really isn't all that necessary. I just played through The Force Unleashed last week finally, never really having much interest in it, and figuring "I'd get around to it whenever." After finally playing it I can say that the only redeeming quality to the game that I found was the story. There are so many game glitches and many of the fundamental game mechanics like lock on, hit detection, and the camera, are so broken that playing this was one of the most frustrating experiences in recent memory. The only thing that made me suffer through was wanting to finish the story that I felt was better than that of the last three movies. Even if the story on the second is as good, without fixing all the issues that plagued the first, I don't think that anyone could ever persuade me to pick up and play a new Force Unleashed game.

Video Game News & Reviews - Kombo.com : First Doctor Who Adventure Game Materializes

Well, they used to be a year (series) behind here in the US, so I do feel it's much better now, at least in that respect. As to your other point, I don't mind paying for the games either, because they are the first Doctor Who games available in many years and are worth paying for for that reason alone, at least in my opinion.

I may try to rent and see. I've been reading all the good reviews. But then again, I did for the first one as well, but I was sooooo disappointed. This one does look a bit... I don't know if better is the right word. More interesting, maybe? Either way I know I'm not going to run out and buy it knowing my track record on the 3D Mario games.

Video Game News & Reviews - Kombo.com : Quite Tedious Experiences

I think personally for myself though, I would always choose an HD version of a game that I have played and loved over an original game that I felt to be less than desirable, although I must say I find less current generation titles to be as good as any previous generation. Now granted, that is a subjective statement. And yes, as such, I understand every person will have their own opinion on what constitutes good. Age could have something to do with this, or the kinds of games I've typically played over the years. I'm not too sure. But I don't feel that doing something "new" or "pushing boundaries" necessarily equates to something being a good thing. Pushing boundaries has certainly given us a lot of great $5-$20 Wii games. Seriously though, it's kind of the same reason that with films most people will continue to watch a movie like "Casablanca" over and over through their lives, but most will never re-watch (or if their lucky, ever even watch) "House of the Dead." And if/when both come out on Blu-ray, I'm sure the sales figures will... ummm... kind of support that. At least I hope so. In the end, I do see your point about always wanting something original, although I'd rather have a port of a great "Casablanca" than a bunch of mediocre original "House of the Deads" (House of the Dead Overkill withstanding.)

I couldn't get into the original Super Mario Galaxy at all. I really enjoy NSMBW though, because it is a throwback to the old 2D style games and reminds me of playing the respective Mario NES and SNES games. I can't bring myself to buy SMG2, as I've never been able to get myself to like any of the 3D Mario games and I know for me it would just be wasted money.
