no problem. One more thing, if you plan to give it another go, make sure all your itunes/apple programs are closed. that's supposed to effect the whole jailbreaking process too. All the best!

you should be able to use blackra1n (i think its windows only at the moment) but before you do, check your ipod touch model. If it begins with an MB, blackra1n's supposed to work. If you see an MC, there's no jailbreak possible at the moment. google the guides. its supposed to work in 30 secs...

hey there. i havent used it either but from what ive read, with an ipod touch it doesnt matter if its at 3.1 or 3.2.1. its said to work on 3.X.X. so theoretically it should work on anything 3.0 and above. lots of people have said it does the only thing is, you gotta check if your model number begins with an MB or an MC. (settings>general>about) MB, you're good for blackra1n and MC is currently a no go. Im not sure if this is unique to the 2G 8g ipods tho. So far the reported problems are screen freezes or the ipod not starting up after rebooting but there are solutions to these. Another has to do with some of the Cydia apps. Havnet had the chance to try it out since mine is the 8g 2nd gen with an MC serial number.

thanks for the replies. the only thing with pwnage would be that id need a mac (which i dont have). blackra1n wouldve been THE solution but apparently, for the 2G 8g ones that have MC in its model description, its a no go. (MB will work fine and the MC restriction doesnt apply to the ipod touch 3G) So for the moment im stuck till something better comes up. You guys are really awesome for doing all this.
