I wish it were possible to ban people from board games.

I was not pleased with the ending of the first season so I haven't been watching the second. But this! This is good. Time to dive back in.

I like when she says 'it was like the children’s game that people now call “telephone.”' Oh, you mean the parlor game Victorians called CHINESE WHISPERS? Like why even bring that up.

Also if you would like to be more furious about trivia one of the questions was "Where else besides Rockefeller Plaza is there a big Christmas tree in NYC?" Literally every building and public space. All of them. Turns out he was looking for parks. Okay, pretty sure the answer is still all of them.

And the one question actually about Chanukah - "On the dreidel, what do the symbols Nes Gadol Hayah Sham mean?"
Okay so those aren't symbols they are words? and I just gave a translation but he meant what happens in the game if you get a Nun, Gimmel, etc.
So I was experiencing a lot of levels of rage.

I feel bad naming it but it is on the corner of Jefferson and Irving and is mostly a brunch place.

That's definitely what it was. I'm not a fan of the humor when it's coming from other Jews but at least then it contains some elements of comedy?

My friend works there which is how I ended up at trivia so I'll just say it is on the corner of Jefferson and Irving and is mostly a brunch place.

Wow, that sounds even worse.

Thank you.
I had told my parents I was going to trivia and my dad actually asked me about the theme this morning. And I felt gross again and told him there was no theme.
So I am happy to have somewhere to complain.

I never really comment on open thread but I had such a yucky experience last night and no one to talk to about it.
I tried a new bar trivia in Bushwick and the theme was "Chanukah" (always said with a ch like change)
As far as I could tell I was the only Jew there including the obnoxious presenter who had made up the clues.
There was a "Miser Round" where we had to say which item was cheaper or "which would be a better deal for Shlomo" or "What does little Rosenberg want"
And a fun question to order the top richest Jews in America.
The rounds where we had to identify Jewish singers or actors would have been fine except for repeated use of things like "the heeb", "the J", the "J-Bag" (??) and just other dumb things.
There were only two questions that had anything to with Judaism. And they were also obnoxious, oh my god. Seder is not a holiday.
I felt so uncomfortable, ughhhhh.
We did win! But I did not have a great time.
