Portland News, Oregon News and Local Weather from KPTV FOX 12 News : NBC: Leno\'s Prime-Time Show Ending Next Month - Entertainment News Story - KPTV Portland

Glad to hear this. O'Brien is about as funny and interesting as dirt - maybe dirt is more interesting than O'Brien. Jimmy Fallon is my favorite but it is hard to stay up to watch him so I tape it. On that late makes it hard for people who work to watch and see just how great he is. I've loved him since his SNL days. I am happy with Leno going back to the 11:30 spot - at least I'll have something to watch if I'm not sleepy after the news. O"Brien, never. Put him on after Fallon if the powers-that-be must have him.....hum, wonder if O"Brian has something on whoever does the programing?

Portland News, Oregon News and Local Weather from KPTV FOX 12 News : City Wants Phone Numbers After Water Scare - Portland News Story - KPTV Portland

Adams asking for cell phone numbers sounds like desperation to me. Delaying the announcement of ecoli finding is not excusable....if the media had been alerted they would have seen to letting the public know. Why wasn't the media alerted? Now it sounds like Adams is trying to cover his back. I remember being alerted by the W/M on pick-up changes, etc. Why could not this have been taken advantage of? It's not like the city has no way of alerting....they must think we are a gullible group of their lackeys.

KATU - Portland, OR : \'Clunkers\' rebates look likely for another month | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | National

On top of what you have added there is also being reported the program is drawing praise from the National Automobile Dealers Association and many lawmakers for moving cars off of dealer lots, it is estimated that only 50,000 cars have been sold that wouldn't have otherwise. "That means that taxpayers have spent about $20,000 for each each additional sale. "The program simply feeds the myth that the government offers something for nothing when in reality, the program acts as a regressive tax. By mandating that dealers destroy perfectly good cars that are traded in, the used car market has less supply, meaning higher costs. This means that many Americans who, even with the government incentive, cannot afford to purchase a new car will end up being charged more when trying to purchase a used car. This program should be ended, not extended."

Amazing how we have been taken advantage of in the Cash-for-Clunkers program. The program "a regressive tax" is costing taxpayers $20,000 per car sold and is raising the cost of used cars. Not only that but I see a danger in that this program will lead to the same thing that happened with the housing industry - what happens when a lot of these people default on their payments?

If there were to be an earthquake in Salem that hit the Capitol Bldg., from what I have seen coming out of there it wouldn't be much of a loss. Why don't our elected officials understand, now is not the time to be looking for more ways to get into our wallets? Take care of urgent business - make a list of other things and try to choose priorities. I don't understand why it is so hard for Salem to get it - WE ARE BROKE. Fewer taxes are available.....etc.

KATU - Portland, OR : Wash. state may release ill prisoners to save $$$ | KATU.com - Portland, Oregon | Local

I hope all who voted for this flimsy bill are the ones targeted by the seriously ill prisoners in Washington state to be released from prison. Innocent Citizens do not deserve to be potential victims of this poorly thought out and dangerous early release program. $800,000 over two years will not make a dent. Silly! If one of the supporters becomes a target I'll be sure and say "I'm sorry" - won't do much for them but they voted for it.

I have learned it is better to pick your battle if you don't want to lose the war. These people have gone to far in picking a fight with a great organization over such a piddling thing. After all it was for charity. I have no sympathy at all in this instance and find it insulting to the max - what cheap-skates.

Gotta be just a publicity stunt - if Sammy is for it or doing it I am skeptical to begin with and leery as all get-out. It will cost us money in the long run....and it is a stupid idea, the kind people without an original thought would come up with. Really, who cares whether or not they ride the bus, bicycle or cost themselves time, on our dollar, to play at being whatever. There is not a one of us that couldn't do the same, the only difference being we will need to after Sammy gets through with us.

The recall of Adams may cost some money but in the long run it'll be worth it. Just look at the money Sammy is going to cost us with his stupid ideas and placating the minorities with street renaming, PGE Park throwing out the Beavers for soccer no one will watch and no one wants, replacing the White Stag sign, the list goes on and on. I can't think of one thing he has done that has been in the best interest of Portland Citizens, It seems to be take from us and give to things most of us will never use or want. We can't afford him any longer. Every governmental agency wants to raise our taxes until we have nothing and the way of life we Americans have known is gone. Gees, it’s time to wake up. What is wrong with living within a budget, carefully choosing our priorities? Since Adams lied to get where he is, and that is the only lie we know about, it is obvious he has lied about other things as well and hopes we never find out. The way he did not hesitate to ruin an honest man for his own gain is despicable.
