Under the Radar : Sound Off: Is John McCain a War Hero?

Sorry Seabee, McCain is just as pompous as both a political elite and a socialite. He collects his Senate salary, his VA disability as a POW, his military retirement pay (probably CRSC), and is married to the 4th richest woman in the US if not the world. As far as his Senate record, he holds enlisted personnel in distain and is one of the biggest reasons our military retirement, medical benefits, and other benefits are in jeopardy, he supports the SES in the VA as well as the totally BS program of Veterans Choice, which is so ridiculously restricted it is useless, he is a progressive, supporting anti-gun legislation, pro-amnesty immigration policies, etc., etc. As far as a war hero, the greatest Vietnam war hero (Bud Day) has not a word of praise for him.

MilitaryAdvantage.Military.com : The Great Divide Over Compensation Reforms

"You can still see your doctor..."; 'The ACA will not effect your VA or DOD benefits...'; and on and on. Lies, everyone of them. And here is Congress, run by the Republican majority, who has sworn they will defund the ACA, TELLING VETERANS (active and retired), here, we're going to throw you to the ACA wolves, where you will pay extremely higher premiums (if you can get health insurance with all the injuries and illnesses the military has caused and lied about), then we'll get rid of what we have, so you'll be screwed a 2nd time. Sounds like the government, its lobbyists, and the pay to play mob needs to leave things as is.

MilitaryAdvantage.Military.com : Sen. Graham Defends Military Pay Commission

What a crock, Graham has his retirement, in fact he's double dipping. The loss of Tricare won't affect him, he as a Senator goes to Walter Reed free. What do they want, for all of us to be subject to Obama's reject of a healthcare plan? Impeach both he and the POTUS.

MilitaryAdvantage.Military.com : Doctor-Lawmaker Heck Ready to Triage Compensation Reforms

Don't you love how these Monday morning quarterbacks discuss subjects they've only watched? Congressman Heck, will you back legislation which makes it law that before you hold elected or appointed office, you must have served? Isn't this POTUS evidence enough? Cut Congressional, Executive, civil service pay and pensions, cut welfare benefits, stop government fraud by the government before you talk about compensation and pension reform for the military. Just the fraud and waste by the government would raise these benefits and reduce the deficit. Send us to die on the battlefield, then kill us if we survive. I'm beginning to understand why the government thinks we might become terrorists.

Having written "Tear it Down" for VAWatchdog.com several years ago, it seems the VA (all of it) have worsened, with blatant continuation of denials, lies, criminal activity, and repeated destruction (SPELLED spoliation) of documents. Prosecute the executives of the DVA, provide health care via a bidded contract, sell all VA buildings to initially fund the insurance program as well as using the VHA and VBA budgets.

Wendi, I truly understand your point. But when you really think about it for a second, what comes to mind. 1. You must first define the problem. There are so many, it is ridiculous. 2. When you define the problem, there must actually be a solution that can be implemented. So every solution one submits ends up being something the government, the lawyers, the unions, the VSOs don't want to implement. 3. So when no one wants to actually solve the problem, the only thing vets can do is complain. Nine words.

If the fueshits Van. And I make no apologies for believing that the Constitution is the only thing worth fighting for in this day and age, if you don't, then you're in the wrong place at the wrong time, as having worked in government for too long, I find there are no redeeming qualities in having more of it in our lives. As for social security, it was created by the Democrats, it was expanded (Medicare and Medicaid) by the Democrats, and I know of no conservative that "deemed" it a "right" so I ask you to please inform us of where you got your facts. Nah, nevermind, because the definition of liberal, i. e. open to different ideas, letting people do what they want is only applicable if your idea is the same as theirs, or you're eating, behaving, doing what they approve of. I return to my recent statement that all progressives should be sent to California, a 30 foot wall should be built with warning signs that if you attempt to cross it, you do so at your own risk. Must be why you don't believe in the second amendment.

Rick, don't waste your time, fox is typical of the DAV, VFW, or the Legion. You couldn't possibly be denied by adjudicators with the intelligence of a pea, or have your claim information shredded, or have a lawyer from OGC taking unsubstantiated positions 70% of the time, he is part of the problem. He doesn't read the facts about 37 of 39 VAMCs who can't pass an inspection or that there are millions lost in malpractice suits by the VHA, nah, "It's the best frakkin healthcare system in the world!" Makes me wonder if the DAV puts their people in little rooms and brainwashes them, "Vets are ignorant, the DVA is always right". His rhetoric is that of Saul Alinsky, when attacked, smear your opponent. He even sounds like the dip I argued with on Strickland's site. Nothing you say will change his mind, he like all his buddies know it all, they don't have to listen to vets. Shucks, sounds like everyone else in government.

Well I guess we could find the same thing if we went to "right wing" blogs about liberals. It is tantamount to reading the NY Times and nothing else. We seem to be in a quandry. Democrats are hell-bent on taking the country towards more spending, bankruptcy, and control over all facets of individual lives. It appears this is not wanted, is unsustainable, and is a specific attempt to ruin the country. As for vets, if you promise something, deliver, bottom line. This Congress hasn't. And if we continue, every benefit we have will no longer exist, because there will be no money to pay for it or the Treasury will print more making the dollars we receive worthless. The Republicans are no better. They don't even promise. They would rather wage war, pay off their buddies, and say we volunteered. If you want to discuss conspiracies, one could say that the government creates poor economic conditions in order to create situations where the Armed Forces is the only viable option for our youth. The Tea Party philosophy is to abide by the Constitution, in which one of the only duties the federal government has is to raise, maintain, and pay for a standing defense force, which by all rights means to care for those they send to war. Either way, current government policies towards vets is misguided and morally defunct, on both sides, including the recent decision not to hear the VVA suit by the SCOTUS. The DAV is part of the problem, as they say no to privatizing healthcare for vets, while maintaining an obviously poor healthcare system which is killing vets. More money, more power, more idiotic mismanagement is not the answer when the DVA cannot even admit they infected hundreds through negligence. The DAV has long outlived their usefulness and should be de-chartered. The only answer is to prosecute and hold accountable those officials denying legitimate veterans claims. All the progressive websites you provide do nothing towards this end. Go to Cuba Steven, that's the system your leaders taut as the model of healthcare. What a joke!
