Perhaps a K series engine with stop/start technology would have been the ideal way to go?

If you had the option of not having a hybrid engine, and instead having a k20 or k24 mated to a 6 speed with lsd, this would be great! Smaller and lighter then the SI. And better looking. I really doubt anyone will buy it, but its nice to see Honda looking in sport(ish) direction with their hybrids.

The Smoking Tire : TST Dream Garage:Mercedes-Benz 1992 W124 500E/E500 Sport Sedan

This car looks nice. You can just picture it with two flag of some random country you've never see flying on hood, with a red licence plate, blasting by people on the freeway. Benz + nice AMG style wheels + lowered = pimpin. This car is a classic from every angle, the only thing that really dates it now its not having HID headlights and led tail lights. During the day it looks at home even with the latest models. The best deal if you're going new in the power sedan market is definitely the new C63 amg. It looks dirty, its much cheaper then the higher end models of benz, or something crazy from Jaguar or BMW, and its really fast to the point where you really might crash if you're not paying attention.

The Smoking Tire : TST Dream Garage: 1966 Shelby Cobra

I like this car but for me, if you're going Shelby for your dream garage, its gotta be the Daytona Coupe. The lines on that thing are just SO SO sweet. You still get the ridiculous side exit exhaust, the front looks better, and the back is sick.

The Smoking Tire : TST Dream Garage: Matt's Favorite Car of All Time

What I ment about the transmission thing is why don't cars have transmissions like motorcycles? On a bike you don't really need to use the clutch, just lift off a bit and pop it in. I'm sure it would be more reliable then straight cut gears (no synchros like the F1). Anyone know why? A bike transmission seems pretty easy. 1 N 2 3 4 5 6. No gears to "miss" just go in order. Am I missing something? I saw a vid of a Caterham with a R1 motor or something and it was just so badass I thought of this.

The Smoking Tire : 2011 Ford Fiesta Review

Perfect review. Pretty much exactly what people considering this car would be looking for. Obviously its not a sportscar, but if its as fun to drive as you say it would definitely be a good choice over a Varis, which is utter crap and really gives me that "death trap" feel while driving it. Hope we can see you at least get a ride along in that Fiesta rally car! Keep 'em coming, love this show!

The Smoking Tire : Addressing the Lotus Esprit V8's Weak Gearbox

I have no doubt that car is more then capable of 500hp without being uncomfortable. I've had the privileged of seeing one at the local circuit track and it really was a shame to see it NOT being hammered out of the slow corners. Its a BEAST is the twisties but I was at the time wondering about the slow exit speed. This answers my question. Spending the $3-10k on a tranny really isn't that bad when you consider the car itself it pretty cheap for the performance it will provide after this mod.

The Smoking Tire : Mercedes-Benz E550 Coupe: Your Review Questions Answered and More!

Definitely liked the Q and A style, but also enjoy your comments and how you make your videos entertaining. (ie Nissan versa vs. Corvette halariousness) Some hybrid version of the two would be awesome. Really dig the E coupe. I guess even if its no better then a 2011 GT, you still get to have the PIMP factor you just don't get with a mustang. That is usually what people who buy high dollar mercs are after anyways. Nice review Matt!

The Smoking Tire : 2010 Lotus Elise vs. 2000 Lotus Esprit V8

I like the Elise better because of reliability, but the Esprit looks WAY cooler. It has pop up headlights!!! I personally would like an Exige better, because if you're going to have a stripped down noisy car, you may as well go all out. I would also ditch the toyota 1.8L and swap in a Honda K series. Its a much stronger motor in N/A and forced induction setups.

I wouldn't be so concerned with the performance number as the overall feel of the car. Lets me honest, no one buys an E class to drive the crap out of it. Sure its great for blasting down the interstate, and I'l like to know what that feels like in the car so review about that if possible. I've always seen non AMG benz's and kindof like having a personal assistant with you while you're driving. You're there, but the car does all the work. Would like to know what the radar cruise is like to use in the real world. (does it have that feature or is that S class exclusive?) Basically does it make you feel special driving it, because that's what a Mercedes should do. ps. BEST SHOW EVER!

The Smoking Tire : What Car Sounds the Best?

I love this car. I really love the review of it they did on Top Gear. Has really HQ video and great sound as well. This thing looks and sounds amazing. Personally I think the best engine sounds come from cars that are carbureted. You get that sweet idle, the slightly imperfect reving, and the semi frequent back-fire from the exhaust. Can touch the performance of new FI, but the new computer controlled stuff sounds almost too perfect for me. Matt, I really dig that purple jag E type you drove in the same video as the GT2. Not in anyway to downplay the awesomeness of the GT2, but it just doesn't have that same flair as the old Jag...

Manual FTW definitely. There is nothing more satisfying then revmatching in a car with a free flowing exhaust. Plus there is just that X factor about using 3 pedals with 2 feet. Having to take one hand off the wheel, and pull the gear lever, then back to the wheel...

Having to take one hand off the wheel, and pull the gear lever, then back to the wheel... Plus with a DSG your left leg does nothing, leaving your right leg to become dis-proportionally muscular, and that will just look weird. BTW this website is f***ing sweet!
