Xavi is the same, but the system is different so his role is different. It's all about space and diagonal runs. you can't compare Pirlo and Xavi because they are in two different coordinate system. Spain have 3 deep lying play makers that get in each other's way in a bad manner so Xavi don't have enough space unlike Pirlo also unlike Italy there's a lake of diagonal runs by Spain players in the final third because of they are playing so narrow and the opponent plays so deep and tight, Spain needs Pedro to stretch the opponent defense in order to make rooms for diagonal runs.
