In a high tech, high skilled, levelled up economy ... we will need loads of immigrants to do the mundane jobs.

Tories - if your grammar and tech school educated granddaughter is going to be working on world beating missile systems in 2032, she ain’t going to be picking your fruit and veg after work, is she? No she ain’t. She’s not stupid.

Tories want to play it all ways though:

Protect benefit claimants to win their votes. Attack labour for being soft on benefits claimants. Attack benefit claimants to win votes.

It’s the old “Labour only cares about immigrants ...vote Tory if you’re an immigrant as we’re the party that welcomes you.’ Forked tongue routine.

Tory party could be in power for 20 years “ welcoming immigrants” then in the weeks running up to an election will hire a ‘genius” (from Australia, perhaps) who comes up with the idea of putting out the message that if Labour gets into power they will ‘flood our country’. 150 grand the middle class **** asks for coming up with that idea.

The problem with asking Kate questions about Brexit is that it’s like asking Richard Tice questions about Brexit

The level of ignorance, blind confidence in the U.K* and arrogance is often startling

*please don’t tell me that 17 million brexit voters are ready to do business in Vietnam. I’m not stupid.

Brexit - like marrying four women and telling your dad that you’ve got 50 years of peace and quiet ahead of you and your dad looks at you and thinks “You’re in for a shock, you daft bugger.”

Yeah don’t worry - we’ve left the EU but the EU will pretend not to notice whenever the Tory party gets on the blower and says “get us out of this pickle.”

Do ferries from Portsmouth to the Isle of Wight even need red tape and paperwork or do they just set sail after getting a telegram from the Govester that reads: “Don’t worry about ‘technical’ stuff. Just get going.”?

Yeah that’s fine in theory.

It reminds me of the theory that the rich should do nothing as the poor go hungry but merely wait and watch the poor “evolve”.

As Elon Musk might say to a man in England who is 18, homeless and hungry: “you can be like me one day - BUT NOT IF I HELP YOU OUT. SO F.O. THEN’

Dragon’s Den often makes me laugh when the millionaires have contacts in retail they can phone up and get a product on shelves within weeks “BUT I’LL NOT TELL YOU POORER PERSON FROM LEEDS HIS EMAIL ADDRESS - NOT UNTIL YOU’VE GIVEN ME 45 PERCENT OF YOUR BUSINESS.’

Let’s spend our lives sitting around waiting for the poorer people to find their own path to wealth. We can keep a tally of dead children, just to add a certain frisson to the sitting around watching and passing judgement.

Brexit is the unhappy concatenation of the stupid, the thick, the racist, the infantile, the aggressive, the spoilt, the lazy, the paranoid, the retired and the filthy selfish rich.

So there you go. Summing life up in one sentence - anyone can do it, as you and I prove.

Thank goodness a no deal Brexit will see the working class fisherpeople of Bradford and Maidstone rolling in money next year as we all pivot towards Asia.

How do you say “Would you like salt and vinegar on your scallops, mate?’ in Mandarin?

‘backed up with diplomatic and military heft.”

Dear me. Talk about the glory days of Empire. So we leave the “bully boys of the EU’ then set sail hundreds of miles for the Pacific with our military heft. Are we going to bother asking the teenage girls of the Indo-Pacific nations if they want us rocking up and being macho or it just an English establishment fantasy that everyone wants to see our fighter jets flying over their cities even though the English certainly don’t want to suffer the indignity of being subject to ECJ rulings?

Is there any country in the Indo-Pacific region going: “Now then ... the U.K. has left the bully boys of the EU and stands alone so let’s set sail and establish military and diplomatic operations in Portsmouth. Fire up one of our warships and let’s show the Brits how much we’re ready to lead them to a better world. Stick 500,000 Chinese mobile phones on board - we can use various techniques and methods of persuasion to get Brits to buy them when we’re not driving down their streets in our funky armoured personnel carriers. I can practically smell the money already.”
